staggered wheels?

i saw a tsx and a TL with staggereds and lowered and i have to say, despite the fact their fwd the were sexy as hell.

ok fine...nevermind (spin)

yea the car is fwd but have u ever seen someone stagger the rims to where there bigger in front? no, because it looks dumb, 8.5 in the front is plenty rubber to handle the power the ms3 has
and no rubbing, prob not, ive never seen anyone with 9.5 inch wheels that didnt need some fender rolling/trimming

I like the look on my friend vw but there are couple issues
1) u have to rool the fenders
2) u must have stiff suspension as s*** so u wont rub
3) its pain in the ass if u aredaily driving or racing or driving fast
thats why i wont do it because its good for show cars

From what I have read on the forum in most cases the rear wheel rubs first when mods are made. The widest tire we run in the back will decide the widest tire balance for street and higher speed cornering so maybe it is good to know how much rear tire can fit, without rolling rear fenders, on stock suspension.

I won't even throw out the fact that staggered wheels on a front-drive car is foolish (ooh... there I just did...) I can't imagine you'd ever fit a 9.5" wheel in the rear wheel wells of this car. You can only fit about three-quarters of an inch out towards the fender before it rubs, which means you'd have to stuff the extra 1.75" back towards the suspension. Yeah, right. Plus, wtf tire width would you put on a wheel that wide that wouldn't rub everything in there?

its not folish its a style that all vw guys follow I would love to have wheels like this on my ms3

I always thought its hilarious how people say about staggered wheels on a front drive car are "not about performance, they're about aesthetics," when the fact is that it looks AWFUL.

If you do this to your car I may have to find out where you live and reposess the car on behalf of Mazda for your horrible butchering of the car.

It'll rub everything under your fender, and serve no practical purpose. You're not even going for a bigger diameter wheel in the back, so it's not like anyone is actually going to notice except for you. And those that do notice are going to either tell you how 2 Fast 2 Furious your car is, or make fun of you (or both!).

You would have to use smaller diameter tire and wheel to acheive that stance an d avoid too much rub.
