So I noticed that a stock SRT-4 intercooler is about the same size as an FMIC. So with some custom piping, does anyone think that it would work? Is there a certain size it should be? Is there enough room? Just curious...Thanks guys...

make sure you are precise when designing a MAF housing, otherwise i think it is doable

The end tanks in the srt4 intercooler turn back 90 degrees twards the motor. To make it work on the 6 you'd need to turn it another 90 degrees upwards. It would flow horribly.

If you want a budget IC just look at some of the ebay options.

i would recommend getting something designed for the car. the first couple attempts actually showed a decrease in power....

What attempts are you referring to that showed a decrease in power? DIY FMIC installs? SRT-4 FMIC swaps? I don't think I've seen anything that indicates that a properly functioning FMIC decreased power on a MS6....

the first FMIC developed by ProtegeGarage showed a decrease in power and therefore was never released. they changed the design and came out with one that does help.

I have no personal knowledge of anyone attempting a SRT4 install.

try dsm intercoolers for the eclipses they've got tons of different styles and im sure one of them would work on our car...gonna be alot of custom fitting though to get one of those huge ass things to fit.. a buddy of mine has one on his 98 gst its 4 inch's thick by like 30 inches long and 18 inches tall.. freakin retarded but works well. good luck to u sir.

the other forum has a couple people that have done diy fmic installs. check it out, they seem to believe the butt dyno to be affected positively.

i was actually wondering the same thing myself.. my buddy has his stock srt-4 fmic and if someone could get this to work it'd be great.. but i'll prob just end up getting one designed for the car once i have the money
