Squeaky Clutch

:
03 22v P5-T
Hey guys, I searched a bit on this one but I couldn't really find anything. I have an 03 MP5 and whenever I push in the clutch, it squeaks. It works fine, but I just don't know what's up. I read that it can be the slave or master cylinder. Some people even fixed it using lithium grease.

Anyone else have the same problem?

is it the pedal? I had a squeek when I compressed the clutch also. Im not sure if this is the right fix or not but it worked for me. If you have the hood open have someone press the clutch and wacth near the clutch cable. Im not sure the correct name of the part that moves, but I sprayed wd40 on it and it went away. That was about 2 years ago and hasnt came back. hope that helps

Thanks for the advice! Will do. Just to clarify, would the clutch cable be close to where the clutch is on the driver's side when looking in the hood?

yes. Near the tranny. Youll see that bracket piece move when someone presses the clutch

wow sub ive been wondering this for years hahah.. gives us an update on how that goes..

Yeah I had the same issue on my MP3 and WD40 on that bracket solved it that time too.

I'm going to have my friend push the clutch for me once I get to his house. I have WD40 but I'm going to try some lithium grease instead. I'll let you know how it goes when I get back home.

Thanks for the advice!

Alright, so I greased it but the squeak is still there. It's pretty loud too. I notice it got loud after it rained too. I sprayed a bunch of grease on it but it's still squeaking. I'm going to have a go at removing that rubber boot where the bracket is and try spraying some grease inside.

I'll let you guys know how that goes!

My squeak is coming from the engine. Hadn't had time to remove the boot yet but if your pedal is squeaking at the pivot point, get up under the dash and try spraying some grease/WD40 on the spring.

my squeak is from the pivot pedal as well... does this mean there is somethign wrong with our cars or its just a random sound that comes from use?

I'm a little confused. Do you mean the pivot pedal on the transmission towards the front of the car? If so, that's where mine is coming from.

Here's an update:
I removed that boot and sprayed WD40 inside. I also sprayed some on the pivot arm/bracket, but no luck. The squeak is still there. It doesn't really bug me, but it's kind of embarrassing. I just don't want my car to break down either lol.

Anyone else have any tips?
