Springs and warranty

What do you think the risks are of getting springs in relationship to the warranty? I'm considering the eibach pro kit. Thanks

It probably vanished because there is a massive sticky in regards to warranty information.
Springs will not void the warranty unless the dealer can prove that they caused whatever failure your car has.
Now with that said, aftermarket parts will cause dealers to raise their eyebrows, and may evoke suspicion, but you should be pretty safe with springs.

Never underestimate a dealer's scumbaggish ways to void your warranty for the littlest of things. If you go in with any sort of suspension problem, meaning a leaking dampner, clunking swaybar, etc... I almost gaurantee they will not warranty the work to fix it because your springs will be the first thing they see when they put it up on the lift. I'd be almost inclined on getting aftermarket springs powdercoated black so they wouldn't notice them. That's what's good about Eibach's. Every other aftermarket spring known to man are bright blue, red, orange, you name it.

Im going to get springs and I probably wont take them off for dealer visits. Most dealers are okay with intakes so springs shouldnt be any worse. As for painting them black . . . its still pretty obvious even if your car is lowered 1/2 an inch but then again some of those mechanics aren't any more qualified than I am. I dont think they can defend ditching my warranty for an engine related problem when all they see are upgraded springs . . .

They'll say something like "The aftermarket springs allow the car to launch harder due to being stiffer and lower thus putting more strain on the engine causing it to blow" Probably make up the same kind of dumb s*** about the transmission, etc. Then next thing you know you’re out on the street sucking cock for quarter to pay for a 8k engine…

just get the mazdaspeed lowering springs they wont be able to say a thing about it

I would imagine that lowering springs will most certainly void the warranty on your stock shocks IF they fail within the warranty period. It shouldn't affect other parts of the car in terms of warranty coverage. Common sense if you ask me. FYI, on one of my previous cars, I remember that although Eibach Pro-Kit springs are black, they do have a white "eibach" logo on them with a part # on each spring.

i think it depends on the dealer. I had a torn axle boot and took it to the dealer with my COBB springs on and they replaced the whole axle for me under warranty.

The only thing the service guy said to me was if i raced this car. i said, look at my avg mileage computer it says 28mpg, i drive her like a baby. He said ok no problem, come back tomorrow we will have the part in.

Speedy that is an awesome move. seriously. i agree it depends on the dealer for some reason. I guess its about personalities and such not so much Mazda. Lower springs logically might void the struts and if one was aggressive, maybe axles and joints, motor mounts, end link nuts falling off. My Service writer is just plain a good guy and I immediately knew he was straight up. He suggested some suspension parts for me. But it sounds like I might be lucky compared to some folks' reports. But your service writer should be your friend. Ask him about how low the Mazda speed can sit and then ask how low the MazdaSpeed springs or coilovers go. This might be a good lead in

so just a little follow up on this but has anyones lately had any issues with their dealers and after market springs???
I too am looking to put on the eibach prokit!!!
