Spraying lubricant behind folding mirror

So someone clipped my folding mirror when passing a few years ago. Most of the time it won't retract fully unless done manually. I've sprayed with silicone wd40 but only partially retracts. I have some Houdini lock spray, thinking about trying that a week after the silicone, thoughts?

I don't think different lubricants will do anything. Something internally is more than likely damaged, and will need to be replaced for functionality to return. They are plastic gears inside that wear out over time I would guess it stripped something.

The retracting mirrors have been a pain in the neck in my car since about a year after I bought it. I've evenn replaced the the driver side and its still hit and miss.

It actually works against after spraying 3 days ago. Im also gonna spray the pivot park underneath mirror then after winter both spots with Houdini lock spray. FYI Houdini is great in old locks
