Sport suspension package?

I still have sitting around in a box my black Tokicos with the endlink tab 1/2" off from the location on the blues and my coilovers. You may have not had to replace your endlinks but the position of the sway bar couldn't have been the same.

Like Tylor I find it strange that this is the first time anyone is talking about it. Where is TheMan when you need him?

no, my blues went on without needed new endlinks...

trust me, if people are being told by VIN they have the sports suspension package, then there is a sports suspension package.
i distictly remember my black stockers had tokico on them. however i am unsure of what should come otherwise.
My black stockers were KYB but does this just mean that was what was in the million strut bin at the time the car was built OR tokicos came on sports suspended vehicles & KYBs came on base model suspended ones OR it coulda been a regional market thing. Only TheMan knows for sure............

why would the endlinks be shorter in the sport model suspension? maybe this could denote something else that is different with the suspension. suspension is not my forte haha
Based upon the tab position on the strut or ride height was lower due to springs.

i just find it funny we just now, 5-7 years after these cars have been out, this is the first thread about a sport suspension

Most likely just a bit stiffer & better handling trackier feeling but if you've done much of anything suspension/shockwise probably none at all.

from what i can find mazda only sells one type of shock/spring for the protege5. so i am doubtful about a factory sport suspension as well

i used the orig endlinks when i put the hp kit on and never an issue....curious now...next i goto a dealership i'll have them run my vin

the sport links are 7 1/4 and the regular ones are 8 1/4 i just found this out today

Dunno, all I ever stirred into the pot was sarcasm and feciciousness. Doubt it tho. Funniest thing to me is how it reappeared after 2 1/2 years for some unknown reason............

Idk either but the suspension on the p5 is slightly different than a sedan so it's just under sport suspension. Or Atleast that's what my local dealership told me.

This thread was a good read. If that cat wrote "Trust me" one more time though... haha.

Mine has "sport suspension". I was asked at the parts store. They pulled that from my VIN. Lucky guess is that older models, (pre 01?) had this "sport suspension" on their best trim and mazda carried over this to the newer models in more standard trims. I have an 02 LX and needed short endlinks. Shorter than msp's 7.5 inches endlinks.

funny i noticed a while back the sticker on my door jam where all the vehicle info is, somewhere it said "sport". I have to take another look at that, mine is 2001 sedan ES. Either way i have tokico blues on there now
