trust me, since i work in a parts dept, there is without a doubt a factory sports suspension.
When you call the dealership, and request a part, they usually ask for the last 8 of your vin number. the combination of the first two digits, and the last 6 digits seperates your car from other car models (in this case p5s) sharing that same combination.
If you dont have the vin handy, the ask generic questions, engine size, transmission and trim level. This helps narrow down the amount of parts given to them by the system.
Endlinks for example.
If the worker just does a generic search for a 03 protege, hes going to get every endlink for every model protege. Not all endlinks are the same, by narrowing it down to your vin, it only gives him one part#, the one that goes with your car.
Ive been asked several times if my car had the sports suspension, and i honestly didnt have a clue the first time. After they looked up my Vin, they said sure enough i had the sports suspension.
