What is the difference between the Sport P5 that just came out and our nomal P5 ??

Where did you see information about a Sport P5? Is there a new Canadian model? I didn't see anything at www.mazda.ca or www.mazdausa.com.

Mine came in on the truck yesterday and I drove it home from the dealer yesterday evening! Mazda did a mid-year change on the automatic transmission, the new Sport AT. It's basically a tiptronic automatic transmission meaning that you have normal automatic transmission, but at your choice you can shift at any time back and forth to "manual" mode, where you get to shift up and down as you would in a manual, but obviously there's no clutch. It's a lot of fun and I'm digging mine so far... oh, it displays what number gear you're in on the left side of the instrument panel below a PRNDM indicator.

OK, so it's not really a model designation, but more of a transmission name: Sport AT 4-speed automatic transmission. Correct?

I think what Kamala trying to say is called TIPTRONIC......just like what IS300 and JETTA has....right ??

I bought mine a few days ago with what is called mid year refresh, It was a free option and it came with side marker lights, a different shift knob, and the cupholders are different, nothing major.

I checked out your site....is that the Sport one you bought ?? The rims looks kinda different ?? Is it ?? Do you think you can take a picture of how the shift nob is ??

This really pisses me off now.......I got my P5 like 2 months ago...If I waited a bit longer....I would be bought the tiptronic !!!! DAMN !!!! I love tiptronic.....just like the video games

Forgot one question....Is the tiptronic 4 speed or 5 speed ?? If it is 5 speed.............I am gonna be really pissed ...................!!

Yeah, it's not a new model, just what they're putting in for the automatic transmission now. I don't think it cost more than what the regular AT would have cost a few months ago, but the guy did try to take me for a ride on price telling me how in demand they are. I didn't let him do it and judging by all the enthusiasts on this site who were taken by surprise by the change, there can't exactly be all that many folks pounding on the gates just yet. It does feel like you're playing a video game though... Outrun for Sega anyone?

Damn, you people asked about 10 questions while I was typing! It's 4 speed and it is like any other tiptronic. I can't speak to any other major mid-year changes, other than I was surprised to find out that they've split up the Moonroof/SRS-ABS package. Mine has a moonroof, but no SRS-ABS.
