WHERE is that car from? its OBVIOUSLY righ hand drive....and very likely somewhere that uses the METRIC SYSTEM...meaning that speedo is NOT in MPH....but rather KPH....kilometers per hour....and 180 KPH isn't that fast relitively speaking.

Jspec familias have 170HP stock! and also they have the option for AWD, we get jacked here 130HP what is this BS

i thought jdm laws limited cars to 155mph which is around 250kph...also, that would be pretty sad if they limited the rx7, skyline, evo, impreza, etc, etc to 111mph...i'm pretty sure it's 155mph=250kpm

yup...we never get any of the cool cars...we're about 10 years behind the rest of the world for cars...

saw an older skyline here in south florida last weekend. right hand drive and the speedo did only go to 180kph. what a shame. spend so much money on a car and can only go about 120mph. i was doing 110 on i-95 the other day.

yeah man their only electronicly limited to 112MPH, you take off the limiter and you can go to past 150MPH no problem

Past 150mph? in a MP5? It might be able to be done, but I'd find it hard to believe, and perhaps a bit scary.. If you can show me a pic of somone going it. I'll be impressed...

I think pr5owner is talking about the Skyline YellowMP5 saw in Florida. You need A LOT more power to push a P5 to 150mph. the US Protege/P5 is DRAG limited to 119mph I think, and IIRC, drag increases exponentially as you go faster, that means you need MORE than 170hp to go 150mph.

The reason why we don't get a AWD 170hp Protege5? MONEY. It'll be too expensive to be considered 'economical', probably high 19k into low 20s, which is midsize sedan territory.

Well, considering that some people paid 19K -> 20K for the p5 after all the options.. I don't see how a 170hp AWD version for that price could be a problem. Also, The 180hp AWD Matrix is in the 20K+ range...

yeah everybody paid 19-20 after adding options but consider this...

19-20k base
+taxes
+registration
+options
now you're looking at a good 23-24k...

Not everybody paid that uch, but lets not start that arguement again...

Financeing for 5 years is about 20$ a month for every 1 K... I'd pay an extra 40-60$ a month for 50hp and AWD... No different that the people who are going to pay 3K to turbo it.
