Spool's MSP FMIC & CAI

Terry - $300 for a MUFFLER?!!! Why don't you guys use a cheaper (sub $150) muffler. There are some great choices that will do nicely...

Nahhh Man HKS all the way. Its worth it it not to skimp out;)

Blah, I've seen great mufflers for under $150. Nothing skimpy about 'em. Besides, I don't like the HKS big fat tip. :-(

My logic is this: If you use a Thermal R&D or a magnaflow (both good brands), you can save the end buyer like $200. You'd probably sell more exhausts.

Or at least give the buyer a choice? Just a thought. It'd make sense. Take a poll or something, see what people want.

Terry, I have a question about the BOV that you are using for this FMIC. My question is, these BOV that you are using a venting to the atmoshere and the stock BPV on the mazdaspeed recirculates the air. Won't the BOV that you are going to use, cause are cars to stall or have you found a way that those BOV will reciculate the air like the factory BPV

Uh, he is in VA! Right near Richmond. Just go to their website. They still have the information up from the Spool Open House. You will have to find out from him about the specifics of that.

Will this help the hesitation??
Does the price include the BOV??
Would you work a deal with the CAI??
Also will I notice a performance difference at 10 psi??

THANKS!!!!

lol

Did you want fries with that too??? (laugh)

Not completely done yet, but I doubt anything beyond an ECU flash will help the hesitation problem!
The price for the hardpipes and stuff doesn't include the BOV. I think that was stated in an earlier post, but I am not sure. The Greddy S is like $230.
The next question has to be answered by SPOOL.
Of course you would see a noticable difference at 10 PSI!

Exactly:D

The CAI is $175 dollars.

Yes!
Hey spool do you live in the VA area? Do you own a shop or something, we could visit?
Yeah we are located in Richmond.........give us a call or stop on by:)

If you use the greddy type S you will have minimal problems......rememeber you will always have an issue however....but it will be very minimal. You will not stall unless you are at full throttle in any gear put it in nuetral and let go of the gas......you may stall, but who does that?
Under normal load conditions u should be fine

i do i do!!!! well not really. showing off my 4 cylinders of fury is not my idea of cool.

but i did order a steel hks flange for the pipes that will hopefully be in soon. man, i hope 60mm is the one i need.

Thanks once again Jerry from School, you da man(bowdown)

Terry,
I didn't really see this answered in any other post, but I'd hate to not use my Injen CAI but I definitely want your kit! In the pics it looks like your piping will interfere with the Injen.

Great job!

Blindfury37,

I asked the same ? and Terry did state that the Flange can be relocated to accomodate the Injen :D

Okay here is the deal....I think that the BOV at its current position would interfere with INJEN setup.....but as Terry has stated before in other posts.....they are an in-house fabricator aka they can make it how you want it. So if you are truly interested they will do all that they can to accomodate you!

So terry the down pipe and exhaust are going to be one peice??
The reason i ask is that i have a straight through pipe where my cats were and i would hate to get rid of it since it paid $260 but i really need a better down pipe.

So terry the down pipe and exhaust are going to be one peice??
We have encountered some issues with downpipe flanges. It will take a few weeks for us to machine these so for now we will only release a catback exhaust sytem and we will release the downpipe as a seperate piece in a month or so

We are almost finished with our exhaust:D
For now it will be a catback due to flanging complications. We have learned a few things. If a 3 inch exhaust is utilized with the stock hangers there is a great chance for exhaust banging clatter on the heat shield and over the axle.

We will be officially taking orders on the above items next week after dyno numbers are attained next week.

Well here are the specs of our new Spool Exhaust

2.5 INCH Polished stainless plumbing
Tig welded construction
HKS HI POWER Exhaust
Ability to utilize stock mounting places
5 year warranty
Full Catback system
Ability to upgrade with our Downpipe
Straighter path of flow vs oem exhaust

Well here are the pics:cool:
