what ECU are you using for your turbo project? where did you purchase it? Lastly, does it control fuel and timing?

thanks

Sorry Jeremy....I will be using a turbo-link ecu that has full control over timimng, boost, fuel and other things.
Terry

The reason I'm asking is because I'm considering a stand alone system for my car (fs-ze swap). I'm interested to know if the link system controls fuel and spark timing. Could you fill me in?

thanks

The link does control those parameters, but the only reason I am using it because it was on my old turbo car. If you are gonna spend money on a standalone go with a haltech or tecII. The haltech ek6 system is about 1300beans a link is about a grand but the haltech is far more superior. Good luck on youR fs-ze swap!

Hey Teery how bout a meet sometime next week. I've tried looking for ur # in one of the post but have not been lucky yet. I want to see the "work". get me a post so we can meet on your day off

Danny!!! Sorry man I am such a moron sometimes, I tottaly did not see your reply to this post.......anyways email me anytime. We can meet up on Wed and Thurs. Those are my days off. Next week should be good because my car will be fully tuned and running so I can give you a ride in the spoolin MP3!  :p

Hey Spoolin, how many hours on the dyno do you expect it will take to fully tune your engine management? It doesn't seem like it's going to be cheap! We really appreciate you being the MP3 Turbo Pioneer and all. Thanks a lot! I can't even wait to hear about the results! I hope everything goes well. Jon.

Hey Spoolin',

I agree that TECII is a good unit, but what boost are you running that you would recommend it over a Link? I figure unless you're running more than 10 PSI or so, a Link should be fine...

Hello everyone,
My car is currently running on 6 psi and out of tune. I only drove the car once and the BOV sounds sweet! My car will get dynoed some time next week by TOYOMOTO in miami. They are excellent in tuning cars. I plan a couple hours of dyno time and toyomoto aint cheap about 500 bucks to tune the car. After I get the car all squared away I will post dyno results and pics of everything. As for the link vs Tec. The tec is a superior unit. On miatas at the same boost (10psi) link vs tec the tec makes about 40-50 more hp on the same boost level. A link miata at 10psi will yield about 200whp vs a tec miata that will yield about 240whp.

Hey spoolin,

Just wondering, if you think that a garret t3-t4 turbo would be ok to put on the MP-3. I am thinking about taking the n2o off and install a turbo. Could you send me an e-mail of your prices for everything. Thanks Mike

Actually, I say leave the n2o on and tune your car with it. If you use Venoms VCN kit, you can program it to run a controled amount of nitrous prior to spool up, thus elimating lag. Once the Turbo starts spooling, have the nitrous drop off a bit or completely. Of course, you'd only use such a setup on special occasions.

Another option is to use the nitrous kit to cool thee intercooler.

This kit yeilded 52WHP onto a turbo Civic. So, this should go to show you that cooling the intercooler core has it's pros, I wonder what the cons are...if any.

there are some cons to this intercooler sprayer................to much power subsequently breakin your tranny!!

Spoolin, what is look like running at 6 psi, do you see a big difference? IS the car is running well with the turbo?

I'm supposed to have my turbo installed next week by Extreme Machine.

Well 6psi is pretty nice! But I know after I rework ignition and fuel I will have like 20 more hp than I do now untuned. I am still waiting.....and I only drove the car once. I will be sure to post when the car is done. Patience is a must now

Damn that BOV sounds sweet!!! Like a chipmunk on crack!
