SPOOL vs iONperformance (FMIC & CAI)

1. It took 8 weeks to show up when I was told it would ship next day and arrive 10-13 days later.
2. Marco (owner) told me they would hook me up with shipping for the delays. Got a new credit card statement, and it was billed.
3. O2 sensor bung was in wrong spot. CEL is on.
4. Flange that connects the system to the turbo s-pipe was too thin, and washers were not supplied to make it fit.
5. Catalytic convertor is held on by ultra bad cheap clamps.
6. Bend that reroutes the exhaust from running down the center to the passenger side was not bent properly and would not fit in the exhaust well.
7. I knew that it did not fit and only drove 2 miles for testing purposes. When I called magnus the first time, they said to take it to a shop to have it looked at. After driving 50 miles round trip to get it checked, magnus said they would not accept a return on a used product.:wtf: :bs:  (nuts) (dark) Instead, they offered to reimburse the cost of a exhaust shop taking it off, bending it, adding the new O2 bung and welding the cat. I doubt I will ever see that or the 100 bucks shipping.

END THREADJACK

This is ****** up. I would send them a mail bomb if I were you.

Yashooa!!! Haven't seen you around much!
I totally agree with you. I had at one time looked at Magnus myself. Now - A BIG HELL NO!
I hate these business that have no idea what customer service is!!! They think that they know everything! And you come to find out all they do know is that they want your money and that they act like they have a superior product when they haven't researched it or as with Magnus made it properly!
I guess these businesses think that we have nothing better to do then get harrassed by them and then have to harass them in turn to just what we originally wanted in the first place - quality parts that work properly without having something go wrong! But I guess that is too much to ask for!
MY BAD!
(argh) :flip: (pissed) (upyours)

thats because he's been helping his long lost uncle as his packing facility out west. they had a very large shipment of fudge come in that needed to be packed immedietly for distribution throughout the rest of the state.:D

unwrittenLaw - with our hard-pipe kit, you can use the inlet-pipe for the SRI. All you'll need to do is ditch the stock air-box in favor of a cone filter. However, you're better off using the stock airbox w/ K&N panel filter in there.

Thanks ION...thats what I'm using right now..stock box w/ k&n panel filter..much better than a cone filter on the MAF....

hey everyone i have a fmic from spool.it is a very nice kit and i would highly recommend the fmic. i don't know who is bad mouthing spool but i'm going to do some dyno pulls next week at 8 10 psi.

jus10 msp - just a word of advice. Might as well just save your money until you're going to have your car tuned on a dyno. No point in dynoing your car if your car wasn't the car that the initial baseline was done on. (ie: pre- FMIC install)

heheheh Ah jecky you aint lost your touch. :p
Actually I am building a new house and selling the one I am now.

Ahem on topic: How bout Spool and ION both send me a free FMIC ya know just for "TESTING" purposes. :D

jus10 msp - that's great. However if your car wasn't the baseline vehicle, it'll render the after-install/mod dyno runs meaningless. You can only make an accurate comparison of power gains on the same vehicle.

ion and to everyone my car is the one that is lowered with the fmic . and their is only a little cutting of plastic in the front. i put the kit on my self. there is no rubbing or any modifcation needed to put on SPOOLS FMIC. all of yall can make your own choices of whom to buy from but i know who has treated me right and has gone above and beyond what they needed to do

ion performance just some advice to yall my car is the project car for spool turbo and goldline lowering springs.

Well I'll be damned. You're the project car? That's quite amazing now isn't it!

Yeah, nice pics of your car on their website. And their CAI does you wonders too doesn't it?
(Just for those who don't know....he doesn't have their CAI nor was he baselined before the install by Spool - meaning his dyno results are not the ones that are currently posted on this forum - at least until further notice!).

Hold on, I made this thread with no intentions of a pissing contest. Don't start one yet... this thread is really paying off, but not by doing this. ;)

Thanks to both SPOOL and iON for the info so far.

Oh I am not getting into a pissing contest (at least not yet)! :) I am just stating that what is his dyno results gonna tell anyone about their FMIC unless he returns his car completely back to stock just for that. He is running a different setup then just Spool. He made his own SRI. He has the JoeP MBC and I am not sure of what else. I don't see where his dyno would be accurate without him having been dyno'd beforehand. If another person would love to step up to the plate that got dyno'd stock and then after (and only after) the FMIC then I could totally understand it.
And just to state it for the record since I am sure that some people may take what I am stating wrong....I have no problem with Jus10 MSP.
