This might be slightly off topic, but what would be the "best" first mod to make? (Talking about FMIC, 3" Exhaust, CAI) My goal is to have a killer Auto-X car, if that matters. I know this is very subjective, and the real answer is to just get them all at once, but then reality hits and I realize that I'm short on fundage 
Also, are there any drivability issues with any of the products. Rough idle, poor cold starts, CEL's, etc...
I know I'm supposed to be all into the performance and not care about everyday driving, but it's just not the case.

So which company? Anyways, there are no CEL's related to the FMIC, as it doesn't affect the operations of any sensors.
Delivery_Guy - if you want to build a killer auto-x car, go with a set of really light weight 16" wheels (ie: Rota Slipstreams) w/ some Azenis in 215/45/16. If you're going to do run after run (back to back), then the first mod would be the FMIC, as this will make you have more consistent power. The key to winning auto-x is consistency and smoothness.
Since you're not cracking the motor open etc, putting these add-ons (FMIC, EBC, Turbo-backs etc) will not affect cold start or idle. There have been no CEL's to date recorded due to the addition of our components. (FMIC, turbo-back etc).

We will have dyno #'s shortly. We completed the FMIC in record time. However we did not dyno test it. Does this mean our product is inferior to the competions? I beg to differ............stay tuned for dynos

But no cutting is required with our kitsthere was no cutting only trimming of plastic on the splash gaurd under the bumper. Ions kit requires cutting of actual sheet metal to run the intercooler pipes on the vehicle to my knowledge
Ion posted awhile back, asking people here if we would rather have a <2 psi drop and no holes, or <1psi drop and cut the hole.
Not a single person complained about the cutting then???
iON is claiming 0.2 psi increase over the stock system, and the more direct path that is achieved from the cutting is probably a large factor in that.
Bottom line is, if you are that concerned with 2 small holes in a non load bearing piece of your car, go with spool. I peronally can't wait for my iON kit, and would be more worried about the way spool ran their IC pipes. I know Terry said that was a lowered car in that pic, but lowering a car does not make the IC pipes stick out more.
Even though I do not plan on touching the suspension in my car, I would not want my IC pipes to be the lowest thing in the front end.

Yes the picture on the site is not lowered, I mentioned that someone lowered it with our kit.
In regards to pressure drop we noticed that the car (after the intercooler added on) is running stock boost levels. It has not dropped of a bit. I previously stated that not cutting holes on our setup was not used as a marketing ploy. We happened to design this setup because it utilizes the straightest path possible hence the minimal pressure drops. Our MP3/P5 kits require cutting and we are not afraid to market a product with cutting. We just happned to find a pretty decent routing method on the MSP. Our intercooler setups on our turbo protege's have less than 1 PSI of pressure drop just for reference.
We realized no gain or loss in pressure with our FMIC so it is running oem pressure drop levels however with a much larger and efficient intercooler.
The main difference between our kit and IONs
is the intercooler (both seem to be good units)

It seems like ION has a pretty good setup and so is ours. It really depends on what one likes better in the product and who they rather deal with.....hope that awnsers some of everybody's questions

I can't get any pics loaded for some reason today, so go to this link and notice in the fourth pic down, how the IC pipes stick out lower than anything else. This is what I was refering to, but I am not sure if this is the same car that Terry said was lowered or not. It looks to me like it isn't, but it's not easy to tell from the angle of these pics.
I think both kits are awesome. They are both worth what you will spend on them, and will look sweet while enhancing performance. I personally like all of the parts out for our car, with the exception of that POS magnus exhaust

1. It took 8 weeks to show up when I was told it would ship next day and arrive 10-13 days later.
2. Marco (owner) told me they would hook me up with shipping for the delays. Got a new credit card statement, and it was billed.
3. O2 sensor bung was in wrong spot. CEL is on.
4. Flange that connects the system to the turbo s-pipe was too thin, and washers were not supplied to make it fit.
5. Catalytic convertor is held on by ultra bad cheap clamps.
6. Bend that reroutes the exhaust from running down the center to the passenger side was not bent properly and would not fit in the exhaust well.
7. I knew that it did not fit and only drove 2 miles for testing purposes. When I called magnus the first time, they said to take it to a shop to have it looked at. After driving 50 miles round trip to get it checked, magnus said they would not accept a return on a used product.:wtf: :bs: :mad: (nuts) (dark) Instead, they offered to reimburse the cost of a exhaust shop taking it off, bending it, adding the new O2 bung and welding the cat. I doubt I will ever see that or the 100 bucks shipping.

#2. I was very interested in a Magnus exhaust well not any longer. I detest being hassled by vendors who make crappy products and then refuse to stand behind them. Thank you for your post.

Your welcome, and thank you. It makes me feel a little better to know that some people are not giving them business. There were several people who said the same thing in my original thread about this. Nice to know that they just lost yet another 1000$ sale.
