so as i was pulling out of my subdivision today i hear this loud BLAM then a bunch of clanking. I look in my mirror, and i see stuff bouncing on the road behind me. Then i lost ps and that's when i knew i blew my motor (pissed)

yeah, today hasn't started out good at all. I recovered a chunk of the block and part of the piston for your viewing pleasure. I'm gonna be updating this thread with more pics once i figure out how much damage has been done.

well, i got it towed to a jasper shop and they're gonna look at it today and see if i just need the bottom end or a whole new motor. man i hope the turbo and head are still good.

Well I know ProtegeGarage is selling entire engines for like 3k. Might be your best bet. It may seem like alot now but it might be the cheapest course in the long run.

Why on earth would you bother mounting the FSDE into a 1st gen protege when you have the BP that mounts with much greater ease.

We are just looking for more options. The FS is a great motor once its built as ive seen. Guys in PR are making crazy power out of mild FS builds. They also have been making 10sec mild Bp builds also, but have told us that the Bp is actually limited. but the FS is just weak in stock form, but built is stronger than any bp can ever be. one of the reasons where the head gasket and the obvious displacement.

BUT overall the main reason was just for more options trying to get one for the FE aswell....But the BP is still a champion!
