Spend my Money [Equinox] on my MS3

why use a MIL eliminator? spark plug non fouler trick. we've done something similar to that on our turboback exhaust prototype for the ms3 and guess what - no check engine light.

Oh lol I completely forgot about that. THanks KRM, I'll just do that, hah.

Shaved the Mazdaspeed3 emblem today and got the car tinted. Tomo; shave the side moldings.

LOL! Equinox and I are in a race against time. I am in the same situation. I want to do the performance mods, but I am patiently waiting on Cobb. Post some pics of that bad boy with the recent mods.

Injen CAI installed, woot. Sounds so awesome with the stock bypass. <3

Lol this car hasn't even been registered yet,

I'm so lazy right now lol. Waiting on my cat back from CPE, and whenever the hell they finish the downpipe for me as well. the XEDE when it isn't giving me this odd reoccuring problem is pretty nice. I can't tell just how much of a gain it is though, as I was only breaking the car in before the XEDE, so I don't know the diff between stock and post XEDE. For some reason the car will work great all day and all night, but sometimes when the engine is warm, and I turn off the car and let it sit for 10m or so, when I come back to start up the car it is as if the XEDE isn't even on, the engine consistently tries to die and the car is undriveable for the next 5 minutes. It wasn't really a big deal, until today when it did this for so long, I left the car on the side of the road to let it cool down completely. I came back 10m later and it still wouldn't start correctly, so I came back 2 hours later after going to a resturaunt, to pick it up, then it started normally. Stephanie mentioned something about Older XEDE units having an odd internal thermal switch that will cut off the unit when its too hot, but some older ones cutting off prematurely, and it's consistent with that, but now she reassures me it's the MAF signal screwing up because my Injen intake, basically because the intake is too long. Either way, it's getting really annoying. I took a video of me trying to start the car while it was having of its random fits, I'll upload it when I get my laptop back, since I don't have an SD slot right now.

The first thing I thought to doubt was my wiring, but I have checked it, and even completely redone the wiring, just in case, but the car runs great, but then once a day and the oddest time, decided to labotomize itself when it thinks it's hot.Only mods I have are intake and XEDE :/

We'll see what happens. Oh, the CPE Catback shipped today, btw, so that's good.

could be the intake, we will be able to tune for that as well so that if there is a compatibility issue with the map on there we could simply adjust the MAF and MAP values to compensate. i could also email you nutari's map as his is tuned for more air flow.

I got an email from steph just now, and she suggests swappng out with another XEDE unit, which is what I was hoping she'd let me do. So Im going to try that, and once that's done, I'll talk to nutari see if he'd be willing to let me try his maps.

what I want to do more than anything is to find a dyno somewhere around here, maybe even in Florida, see if there are any gains.

this is me holding the car at 3k rpm steadily, and the car does its own thing while I do.

holy s*** thats not good... hopefully its the thermal issue as i find it hard to believe all that would happen from the wrong readings from the maf....

Alright yay, Steph sent me the new unit, and funny enough it has 'Corky' written on the back of it in black marker, as in Corky Bell, of Bell Engineering Group Inc. I love his books Oooooh. Anywho, the Xede works great, no odd problems. However... I finally have thrown a CEL, with this unit on the car, and it's persistent. I don't notice anything wrong with the car, so I just got the code read to see what it could be, P0108.

P0108 MAP sensor circuit high input ON 1 CCM

Anywho, the Xede itself isn't causing any problems anymore and it seems to be working correctly. I talked to Stephanie, and was wondering if it could be the Injen causing it, she doesn't think it would, and is asking around to see the probable cause of it. She thinks it actually is the Xede making the CEL, but I myself think that if that is the case, then something with the wiring has to be off. I asked her to send me a better wiring diagram as the one I had, had a little bit of hand writing, and corrections on it. I really hope it's not something I did or I'll feel like a moron. I've checked the wiring over six times, completeley re did the wiring twice. Just to make sure. She says it might be sending signals to the wrong MAP sensor. skld;fjsdfgds

Oh well, it isn't hindering drivability right now.
