SPEED5HORNETS Engine done build thread!!! (for real+LARGE pics! )

and running rich doesnt make since to me...Im running the stock loaded map on the s.s afc. Put with with my fmic, 2.5" dp and 3" exhaust, and cai it should be leaned out due the the more air/easier breathing...

Yeah! ordered weaponr hardpipe kit so we can move the maf to the cold pipe and run the bov vta without the occassional stalling ;) Also got side mount inserts for some extra help with getting all my new found power to hit the ground. Once i get my guage pod and my hardpipes, its off the protege garage to fix my bov issue and mount my wideband gauge so that means....they can tune my s.s! Then ill be running good, which means i can go to my cousins stepdad's shop and get dyno tuned for even more power! god im anxious to see how much im putting down

also...my mpg is amazing!!! it hasnt gone down at all after adding the turbo, and im running rich. I dont see how this works...hell it cant be true! While i was n/a i got about average 300miles per tank. Now ihave a little more than half a tank left and i already have 170 miles on....so im getting pretty much one of the best mpg averages ever...THIS IS TWILIGHT ZONE FREAKY

mazda designed the ecu to dump more fuel into the motor when more air is being taken in.

in general, you are right, more airflow will lean things out because the same amount of fuel is being applied, but in mazda case, the more air means the more fuel.

haha, yeah way too much!

I got my mazdaspeed kick plates in today, gonna go throw those puppies on...hopefully not to hard, looks like its just clips

Something had to be causing your mpg to be lower. With my mods I could reach 400 miles on a tank of gas. With good tuning, you should do better than this when you are not stomping on the gas.

well im sure he is not driving conserative at all, espcially after his turbo was installed. i know i dont, lol

If you are leaning out it would give you better gas mileage... invest in a wideband but until then check your plugs frequently for shiny specs!

This may not be the case just a good quick and easy thing to do to make sure your engine is running safely.

Looks like things are coming together there....good to see that kit put to good use :). I am actually selling my whole car at this point, so we'll see how that goes lol.

Btw I have my Walbro fuel pump I'll be getting rid of, I'll sell it to you at a good price if you want. Not sure if you were modding the fuel system at all.
