Speed owners in Omaha/Lincoln?

Looking to get some people together for a track day this summer. Doesn't necessarily need to be a mazdaspeed car. Just post what kind of car you've got.

04 Mazda 3 hatch in Lincoln (but I work in Omaha). Not super-speedy but she handles real well! Very interested in the track day but even more interested in just getting together with other Mazda owners in the area. Didn't there used to be a Mazda club of some sort around Omaha? Is it still around? That would be cool to get a Mazda club together of some sort...

That would be sweet! How would you suggest going about it? Do you know anyone else on the forum personally? If we could get the word out somehow, maybe we could get together on some weekend afternoon or evening, hang out, check out each others rides and then go for a cruise or something like that? I'm kinda on my own down here in Lincoln. I don't know of any other Mazda owners other than myself that would be interested in a drive. A cruise would be cool! What do you think?

We could have a track day. Get everyone together there so we get to drive fast legally. Just got back from the track today actually.

Which track? The one by Glenwood? Are you talkin' the road course or drag strip? How much do they charge? Haven't raced my 3 yet but I've been told I have to get it on the road course down there!

Ya at Glenwood and the Road course for sure. The orientation is like 180$ give or take ten bucks. They teach you line and basic driving techniques in your car. Make sure you know the passing rules and all. Should take one morning and then you can run every Friday that there isn't an event. I have no idea how much it is to run each Friday. Still it gives you a place to stretch your cars legs.

I drive a stock 08 3GT and would like to trade detailing tips, get a look at other Mazdas, etc. It would be cool to get a cruise together too, a bunch of Mazda's all togther on the road would be awesome.

Im up for a meet once we get some nice weather (you know, so we can clean our babies up). BU has a really nice, new parking lot in Bellevue, perfect for a meetup and such.

No actually its blue. Pretty much stock right now but I'm saving up for turbo back exhaust right now. You will prolly see it downtown a lot bc I go to school at UNL and work downtown.

Haha ya I go there. I have to park up against the curb so at least one side of my car is protected. My friends always park on the other side to cover me.
