Spec clutches

maybe your girlfriend or your mom or someone used your car and rode the clutch for a long time and that damaged it. how could it actually be worse then stock? the company would never have made any business. something must not have been right.
Nope no one besides me drove the car from the time of the break-in untell we went to the track, close to 3,000 miles after the install....

And trust me this clutch is far worst then stock, the disc even looks weaker then the stock disc.I'm not trying to knock Spec in any way shape or form thats, why I never posted anything about this untell now.I'm just letting people know the problems I've ran into with this clutch.

I have a quaife LSD, AWR f/r MM and the Spec Stage 3 hybrid and I love the way it feels together. Most everyone that has driven it loves the way it grabs ,and how the LSD helps with handling lol ..I wouldn't trade it for anything, I love the way it makes the car feel more stable and better in general. I have 20k+ on the spec clutch with no problems... I have been running 10psi most of the time with no slipping, and I dont drive like a grandma either lol

I sell a lot of Spec clutches for many different cars, Proteges too even (I did a group buy a while back for them). People seem to like them quite a bit.

I, myself, run an Unorthodox Racing 6-puck ceramic disc, Unorthodox Racing upgraded pressure plate, and Unorthodox Racing flywheel.

Maybe the Stage3 is a way better clutch to have on these car's then the stage 2......(dunno)

I'm glad to see that other people are running spec clutches with no problems and, I wish you all the best of luck.

can someone give me a list of sites or the best price for the quaife LSD, i dont know what i did with the site i found, gotta see if the site is cheaper than what my friend can get me for it.

Just if you get a spec, make sure you check and make sure the clutch plate and disk is the right fit for your car when you recieve it. I ordered one from them just the stage 1, and they sent me the correct plate and bearings, but the disk was for a freaking toyota corolla.. haha.. so we faught with it for three days trying to get it together and couldn't get the transmission to fit back on.. well we eventually decided to take the clutch off and check it and it the disk was the wrong one. The disk had one less spindle in it than what I should have had. So just double check it if you do the installation yourself that it does fit and it is the correct parts in the box. Just a heads up.. cause it is very stressful if its not and you don't know whats wrong ;-)

yes i agree. it has caused a few issues in doing the install in my garage, but it was also somewhat our fault for not checking sooner lol. i think once you get the right one in the car and get used to your car again you will enjoy it .

That is for sure!! Especially when your car has been sitting for a week and cannot drive it! I can only blame myself tho for frying it so soon (eekdance)

well you gotta have fun while driving... so its totally understandable as far as I'm concerned.

I definitly have fun driving it!! All my friends yell at me and tell me every red light isn't a 1/4 mile lol But I can't help it, that is just me!

When I am driving my car I get this rush and sometimes go hunting for a race.. okay do all the time lol

i just can't wait to get my baby back.. the right clutch "hopefully" will be in tomorrow, so i hope my car is complete tomorrow!

ha.. got the new clutch on.. got my car back and the day I got my car back I got pulled over for street racing.. I know I shouldn't have done that yet on a new clutch, but I missed it so much.. now I have to go to court for it.. blah that sucks!
