spark plugs

i got 15,000km on my car and i checked a spark plug and it doesnt look good, really black, anyway i had fomoco plugs, and i would like to upgrade, anyone
know what plugs we can use for our car, and the #?

i didnt see any threads on spark plugs

Go to Street Unit's website and check out the HKS plugs. They're Iridium and pricey but worth the money. I had the NGK Iridiums in my MSP and they were much better than OEM or anything else I found.

well the only place that ive found that have fomoco spark plugs, is mazda $33.00can. for 1.

i thought that mazdaspeed6 stock was ngk? why cant we use these.


from what i gathered looking on the internet, it just matters if its in the right temperature range, so if i stay with stock "6" i should be ok? and i could go with a "7" but for stock stay with "6"? and the gap, and length

well im guess im going to wait intill my warrenty is up intill i put different plugs in and when there is a for sure anwser for aftermarket plugs, better safe than sorry, i had a look at 1 type of spark plug but wasent long enough, so im going to wait. what do you guys think about the plugs in my last post, 15,000kms.

I don't think they'd be offered as something on the site under Mazdaspeed3 Performance if they couldn't be used. I'm going to be ordering them when I have the money to get the HKS ignition and some new plug wires. I'm going to just go thru the whole ignition system at one time when I do it.

I went a heat range colder on my MSP when I changed em out. But this is a different motor so I'm not sure what I'd do now. There's lots of factors that play into what will work best. Depending on weather (humidity, heat, etc.), mods, and alot of other things. Stick with the OEM heat range and gap them accordingly on whatever you get until you have a way to tune your car. That's what I'd do. Just my opinion tho. Haha.
 
why not go to the dealer. if they are that black with low mileage, it could mean trouble in the future.

street unit?, i cant find any spark plugs just hks twin power ignition


you think that plug looks bad?, would the dealer try and void my warrenty if i took a plug out?
 
your plug looks fine to me man... its not going to be clean and those cars run rich so a bit of black doesn't seem abnormal.
 
ya i checkedon the internet for a spark plug chart and they look like there closer to the normal condition plugs, just a little black, mabye the plugs are too cold, running too rich, or weak ignition, it also says for carbon fouled plugs, check injectors and the cold start valve and circuit, and mabye the correct fuel pressure settings. probally just too rich as you said, but im having a cold start issue.
