spark plug wires

when you buy a new set of wires, does it only come with 2 wires or should it be 4?

depends on which ones u get. theres manacores or something? idr but those only come with 2, but the nology comes with all 4. but those r mounted differently

i bought the NGK ones from sparkplug.com. i only got 2 wires labled wire 1 and wire 3....so what about 2 and 4? The pic on the site shows 4 when you click on it to order. Just tryin to figure if they ripped me off or not

No that's how it should be. We have coils mounted directly above two of our cylinders. There is a coil pack on cylinder two with a really short wire going to cylinder three, and then a coil pack on cylinder 4 with a long wire going back over to cylinder 1. It sucks that most people charge a flat fee for plug wires no matter what the car. I paid 60 or so for my Sparkco wires and it would have been the same price for my sister's Nissan VQ V6 with it's 6 long wires. argh

Stick with the stock wires unless you just want some show, they do nothing. There have been turboed guys actually have issues from aftermarket wires IIRC. So unless you want them just for looks, don't waste the money.

I personally had issues with the sparkco, not sparco, yellow wires sold on ebay. The fried out and I was only firing on two cylinders. Those wires are crap and I will always stick with the stockers. ebay-bad product go figure??

I have Sparkco wires that I got.. from Sparkco. I have no problems with them, they seem to be really high quality. Had I known that there was no benefit at all with our cars I would have just bought stockers though. Same goes for the NGK Iridiums that I bought at the same time, I noticed no change at all (no smoother idle or anything that other people report) going from the stock plugs at like 40k miles to the Iridiums, and the Iridiums were burned to crap and gross looking at 55k miles when I swapped them for NGK V-Power, again noticing no difference after installing them.

I guess plugs and wires are one thing with our cars where aftermarket is definitely not necessarily better.

Yeah, stick with stock stuff! We cannot run an aftermarket ignition system, so there is no benefit from using different plugs or wires. I use stock wires and 1 heat range colder plugs on my turbo setup and it works great. N/A setup's don't need to go to colder plugs and using fancy plugs don't do anything either because of the stock ignition system. Save the money and stay with the NGK-BKR5E's and the stock wires.

Let me clarify I had no problems with my sparkco's until after I installed the MSP turbo. I dont know if this had an effect, but I had been using the wires for over a year with no problems prior to going turbo?

by putting larger wires on just two cylinders, will they not fire better than than non pluged wires.Would this not cause problem???

I find plugs make a huge difference. Well. "huge" you may gain a horse power. In my grand am i could feel a difference, i'm gana be changing the ones in the MP3 soon and we'll have to see.

Does anyone have a different opinion on the wires? I was thinking of changing them this summer to something better, but after reading this i'm wondering if it's worth it.
