I am at 94,000 miles and getting ready to do maintanence and need some help the owners manuel suggest a ton of things and I would like some guidance on what really needs done. spark plugs is a the topic right now what kind and specifics ?

Hello...

Some questions first:

A. Turbo or Non Turbo CX-7, AWD or FWD?

B. Are you a do it yourself kind of guy/gal and is this your FIRST TIME doing a plug replacement or is this your next plug replacement (I.e. you've done plugs before)?

C. What the manual suggests is right on, and IF, you look at an item, (Example cabin filter AKA: A/C filter) and it looks clean and does not need to be replaced, then skip it, it's your car and you can chose what needs to be done. ;)

D. Plugs = Mazda OEM, AKA: NGK plugs = you can't go wrong.

E. Avoid anything other than OEM spec plugs, i.e. GOLD, PLATINUM, IRIDIUM, ETC. ETC. it's all a bunch of hype, plugs are plugs, gap and quality are the only two factors when it comes to plugs. NGK are awesome! BOSCH, CHAMPION, ETC. are all fine, but they are not really "made for" Mazda, it's hard to explain.

Well, now that was the easy part, the HARD PART is the labor.

Are you sure you know what you are doing? I mean, that is a LOT OF STUFF TO UNBOLT, UNFASTEN, TAKE OUT, UN-CLIP, remove wires, etc. etc. etc. and if you miss something, break sonething, forget something, lose something, well,. ...

YOUR SH*t OUT OF LUCK LOL!

Time is money and money is time, so do the math, ... what does it cost to have a mechanic do it vs. you do it yourself? If you're trying to save a buck ($) then don't do it, if you've done this many times before and have the tools, time, experience, and patience and a spare car in case something goes bad, then I say.... can't wait for the step by step pictures of how you do. ;)

Good luck!

Peace! :)
