sp2 and downpipe

autobox - first page of the chapter. i don't have the book in front of me right now but it says something along the lines of: if the turbo could dictate the best exhaust, it would categorically state: None! of course, this isn't anywhere near street legal which is why exhaust tuning comes into play so i'm with u on that :)

umm, I reach full boost on stock around the 3500k. Yes F1 does run N/A. So lets look at it from your side. If bigger is better then why not have a 4" exh if it could fit. Exhaust tuning still applies to your application. You dont have a hugh turbo and you dont have loads of power. As it has been stated there is no data to support that a full 3" exh is better for a stock application when compaired to a 2.5" exh. cause there is no complete 2.5" turbo back exh on the market.

I stand corrected. If that was the case then I now spool up ~1000 rpms sooner. Nevertheless I have experienced very good gains from the downpipe. Would I have noticed any difference if I was switching from 2.5 to 3"? Maybe, maybe not. I don't think that a 4" would even be a logical consideration so let's not start that route, for costs sake alone.

Yea, the apex dp and sp2 are very nice. Though, consider the JIC Magic SUS catback as well. Even nicer sounding than the SP2 (if thats possible) and its sexy as hell.

How much did it cost? Part #?

i didn't even know Jic Magic made exhaust for us. be nice if they made us a Ti one like the evos. they weight like 8 lbs. drooool.

on a side note, for the price of the catless apex midpipe paired w/ the sp2, you can get a 3" Perrin for bout 50-100 more. granted it doesn't include the J pipe, but thats where the MAM dp comes into play.

I got mine brand new for 550.00 shipped.

Its the SPARTAN DE Type 1 Sus Series PN# BJ1D1-SU Retail is 598.00

They dont make a full titanium exhuast, but they do have the SPARTAN DE Type 1 ST Series which has the stainless piping and titanium exhuast. Retail is 840.00

man that JIC exhaust is sweet. looks like you replaced the res w/ a straight pipe. if i knew about the JIC i might have went that rout. o well, i'm happy w/ my perrin. how big is the piping btw?

piping is the same 60mm as the Greddy. And yea, the resonator was like as small as my pinky so we cut that s*** out and put some 2.5" stainless in for it. I would have to say that it will flow 110% better now.

And thanks for the compliments! Youre actually the first person to notice the straight pipe on it.

what is the cost on the perrin 3".. also if igo w/perrin i will still need a downpipe right?

i got mine at 849.00 shipped from **********. arrived at my door on the 3rd day.

the design of the perrin is very much like that of corksports. it bolts on right after the J section (downpipe). so it'll delete the cats and res. despite it being 3" it'll still fit onto the stock J-pipe (downpipe) b/c it has a 2.5" flange on that end. so to answer your question, no you won't need aftermarket downpipe to use this.

i'm not suprised no one noticed it before, the straight pipe blends in very well like it belongs there. nice weld job to whoever did that too.

ok well im about to order an exhaust and im going w/a catless downpipe and im debatin on the 3" thermal catback or the greddy sp2...any input..i wanna spend around 800$ or so
