I only wanted to do 2 of them first and see what it sounds like.I really like the way it sounds now.I dont want it too loud and I dont want any raspy sound.I can always go back and take the last one off.
See if you can get a better sound clip from the back of the car like I did mine.I would like to hear it better before I go and remove the last resonator since you cant just put it back on if you dont like it.

exactly my thoughts. I do not like the raspy sound at all!! gsrtype yours sounds like that a bit(raspy). It could just be the video though. for sure want to hear a better sound clip of it

i thought the same thing you did thats why for 2 months i didn ot take off the last

i thought the same thing, and then i said screw it, im telling you its better, its still nonintrusive at idle and on they highway , its just signifacnlty meaner sounding when you floor it. if you eventually do it you will see what im saying, the roar is addicting!!!!.

the cell phone really makes it sound crappy, it sounded the same when i had 2 resinators off kinda rapsy, listen to how much better shark's vid sounds , its the video camera

Ya I know you waited also,I just wanted to see how I liked it.Im going to wait a week or so before I make a decsion or see if you get a better clip to hear.
It really sounds so much better then stock and it didnt cost that much. Thanks for the idea gsrtype1.

exactly which ones did you remove? just the muffler/resonator at the tip and then the closest one to that? sounds real good man. i'm doing it for sure.

yes..they are right next to each other at the end of the exhaust.

I went in today to look at doing this and the shop mgr said I would be stupid if I cut them out that it would simply be for noise and no performance gains. He said that the stock system looks better then anything he can offer and that a SS mandrel bent stock system is pretty trick to start with.

I chose to not cut out anything and leave it in place because he said he wouldnt touch it if it were his car.

Those vids do sound good but if there is no performance gain to be had I wont go chopping up a nice stock system that is as good as it can get.

Like I said,I didnt do it for performance but for a better sound. Not everything I do to my car makes it faster,Some things I do make it look better and sound better. And there is nothing hard about cutting out a resonator and putting in a straight pipe even if the exhaust has mandrel bends.I didnt have them replace the whole back end,I kept the mandrel bends in there. The guy did say that it would be easier for him to just replace the whole pipe from the resonator back but I said no and to just cut out the peaces and leave the bends.
For only $110 Im very happy with the new sound and would do it again if I had the chance. Its your loss.

Oops..I thought I said in this thread that this was not done for performance.I said that in gsrtype1s thread..
Ill say it again here..I didnt do this for any performance gains but for sound.

Where I went I told them about you guys doing this and he said it would be stupid to cut into the pipe like that and not do a 1 piece. You are breaking up the pipe with pipes and different pieces welded together, no loss for me just better choices.

but then again, just because "the master technician" at the muffler shop said it was stupid doesn't make it true.

Not stupid just Ricey and adds noise but if I wanted that he had no problem telling me how to do it. However cutting into the stock CBE and adding sections of pipe is a piss poor way of doing this. If I did this it would be a custom bent up 2.5 nch mandrel bent pipe or nothing but seeing as it will cost me a few bucks and add nothing more then noise he said why bother.

Bottom line is if you want noise and have limited money put sections of pipe in there and hope you dont loose performance. If you want to ensure some level of retaining the performance do a 2.5 inch CBE that is 1 piece to accomodate the already 2.5 DP or go crazy and go with the 3inch turbo back to get gains.
