Solved close to stalling IDLE

Well after so amny tests i finally came to conclusion why is my MSP almost stalling once the fan turns on , and who would of thought of everybody saying its the plastic pipes....hehehe.. they are NOT..... to all the people with the open filter just installed onto MAF in original place.....take your temp sensor out, tape it up with electrical tape and just insert 1/4 of back into the filter....what happens is when the fan turns on and it blows air which lower the temp under the hood, so when the sensor work at lets say 115F and all of the sudden filter sucks in an air that temp is lets say 80F that stupid sensor doesnt know how to companate for such temp drops and thats when ECU throws in more fuel due to colder air and voila....we got engine stalling... and also i got another trick solved, i got my custom made FCD which i thought was not working casue i could only go till 10-11psi and anything above that was cutting the fuel out .....well now the highest i went is 21psi and stable as she goes...that was just for testing, normally i'm crusing at 16psi....guys just do me a favor, dont reply if you will say that i will; kill my engine, and blow my turbo and all that other crap, i was once involved in such a thing i dont want it anymore.... (no) thanks , hope it help to the other STALLING guys...

Patiently waiting for tape to come loose and go through the Turbo....Wonder what burnt plastic will do to a turbo spinning at 100K RPM's+?
I know I once dropped a tiny piece of rubber vaccuum line into the intake of my mustang and it nearly seized the motor up.We are talking like 1/8'' vacuum line not more then 3/4'' in length.
I dunno bout taping sensors up...I would do it if there was no way for the tape to come loose and find its way to the turbo.
Just something to think about before all of you guys run out and pull out the 3M and go to town.
Matt

Another thing to think about is how slow a MSP would be at 21psi.......

hmm...how bout takin a few pics of this taped up temp sensor if you could, id really like to see it. although ForceFed brings up a good point, i might consider the mod, i hate the damn stall when the fan kicks on. keep it up!

dude you can wait all you want, it wont come off.....unless you taped it.....

when you put in aftermarket cone filter in you gotta put in the temp sensor, so i drilled a hole in the back part of the filter which is made of rubber...the sensor is about 3/8" in diameter, so i made the whole about 2/8"(rubber streches), now for the tricky part for ForceFed, have you red my original topic completely, it says not to insert the sensor all the way as in OE but just so like 1/4 of the sensor is inside the filter, know when you tape up the sensor, you tape it up like you tape up any cable which is by starting at one point and turning it until you tape up the exposed cable , and then you go back to the starting point....now when you put the sensor back into the hole the smaller hole than sensor it hold the sensor VERY firmly in place, and there no way on earth that that tape will go anywhere, it doesnt even have any chance to unglue , cause it can only go what 1/4 of the langth of the sensor which is what 3/8"??? common, plus after 2 months now, i went to the dealer to get those darn bushings changed, i thought they will try to put the sensor back in its original position, so i pulled it out and guess what, that tape is in same place as i left it when i first taped it up... i make some pics later on...

Good attempt at making me sound like some ignorant kid.I wont even respond to this with any type of wrong comment. Not everyone here will be as good as you at tapoing it up and I could see an in-experienced persone in the garage easily do some damage to his motor if not WARNED of the possibble consequences.
Thanks for playing
Come again

dude dont take it bad, but i knew sooner or later somebody will make a bad comment rearding this without prior thought that it actually can be done without making any harm to the engine..

ok, i will post pics today, wait for the address to see them..thanks

I have a couple of problems with the info. stated here. I am not flaming and not really arguing with you, just puzzled......

1. You took your stock airbox off and added a cheezy autozone cone filter, which is still in direct line of the radiator coolant fans. Which has been proven several times to lose horsepower.

2. Then you complain when your idle is screwed up. To fix the problem you created you decide to move a quite crucial IAT sensor out of the intake flow. To top it off you then wrap it in tape to further screw up the readings the sensor sends to the pcm.

3. You then proceed to tell me that you ran 21 psi...and beat a WS6....

4. So what you are telling me is you have the stock intercooler and piping, Now have hotter air going into the motor, with a basically inop. IAT, ran 21psi long enough to race a WS6.... and claim to be a "Mazda guru"????

Gimmie a break buddy.....everyone that has tried running that high of psi will agree with me that: A. you were detonating enough for it to be audible, B. your turbo is no more efficent than running a hair dryer in your intake at that psi....

Sorry...some people annoy me.

I would say the same thing, but YOU just said it....

1)Cheeze autozone???Thats INJEN buddy, take a closer look, it can be all in direct beam of heat all it can , unless you got a guide of cool air while driving.Besides, stock air box is so restirictive that it shouldnt be on any turbo car since the beginning, so stop whining that i took "the stock airbox" as if it was any useful

2)I'm not the only one complaining, ask all the other people, if your so knowledgeable about MSPs, you should know that its only a make over from a diesel nothing special, so what do you expect from it????You dont fix it unless you try, so far it can be the only fix up from the annoying stalling , dont like it get lost then

3)YES I DID, are you jealeous or just ignorant not to pump your MSP that high(like i said in first post, dont need no Stupid replies casue i already was in word war why another one, got a stupid comment, keep it to your self) if you want a sport car why didnt get an EVo for 35K but a MSP for 20k???go pundoer on somebody elses balls

4)Yes, stock turbo, stock intercooler and piping, and if my gauge is lying than i dont know, or maybe its only the WS6 owner was pushing the pedal all the way(wait a minute his my cousin) oh well, but your so smarter....Well at least i am claiming to be someone and got couple of problems from my head and my MSP, and what you got still stupid theories ,what were you tuning before??? BMXs???get a life buddy with your theories, like i said before you type anything, wiat a second and think about it, maybe there are other ways of it that actually work , you just getting at these ideas from ass side.... (fu)

the lack of english/grammar/spelling/full thoughts in this thread is pretty sweet. the instant overactive response to concern is awesome too

*click's subscribe* for the stupidness of this thread. I need a good laugh today in my email... 16 psi daily plus hot air... I'll be watching for this

F2TNYC- First off I want to apologize if you thought I stated any of those things to be "flaming". I was simply stating facts that I have experienced for myself and through other peoples cars....

That being said.....

wtf????? What are we in highschool? Where did I get my facts or opinions.....Sir, I am a Mazda Technician...... I ask you, where did you get YOUR facts (or variation of facts) from?

Restrictive airbox???? How come I ran a 13.7 with it? How come JoeP dynoed at 263 hp with it?

The only parts from the european diesel is the intercooler and the radiator....

I'm done. Sorry for being rude...this guy is just plain giving bad info.
