socal fires

have gotten very serious. our firefighters are taking on 8 fires, and the planes and copters cant go up cuz of the winds.

were all ready and packed in case we need to evac. im very stressed right now.

my heart goes out to the people who have been affected so far.

I used to live in San Diego - in Carmel Mountain Ranch/Rancho Bernardo area. I had just moved back to Georgia right before the really bad fire went through CMR about 6 years ago. Just remember that keeping you, your family, your pets safe is what is important. "Things" can be replaced, but people can't. If they tell you to evac, do it. Fires move so incredibly fast and are so unpredictable because the wind directions change in a blink of an eye...be safe.

ya fer sure.

i remember those fires, school was closed for a whole week, the winds are supposed to change when the sun comes up, so im kinda worried about the fires stretching north. were working with very limited resources.

all of our pets and and stuff that is important is ready to go. ive been up since 2 im going on 1 and half of sleep.

they just evacuated my old neighborhood in santa clarita. the news just reported that seco canyon is one of the major areas. our old condo is there. i know bala de plata lives right there too, but it doesn't seem like his section is evacuated yet, but it's real close. this looks worse than the fires in 03.

my friends in san marcos by the csusm said you could see the flames over the hill. they went to my parents in escondido at 2 this morning just to be ahead of any evacuations.

this is creepier than back in 03. and the winds are supposed to get even stronger tonight.

I'm not in any real danger where I live but it's intense. There is smoke over the horizon and it appears to be very thick. I guess the fires are worse than the ones 4 years ago.

I hope everyone is ok and if anyone in the San Diego area needs a place to go please let me know.

there was a wildfire here in CT around the corner from where the inlaws live. That's the first time I've heard of that in this state.

Santa Ana winds are a mofo...I grew up out there and I remeber everytime those winds kick up so do the fires. Then the rainy season comes and houses start sliding down burnt out hills...terrible.

i live in rancho and since the cajon pass is there, we get the full force of the santa anas...and because of that im surrounded by fires in fontana and ontario

The sky is black right now and the sunlight is coming down a scary orange color. Plus the wind is jacking up my allergies. Does anybody know if the fire in Ontario got put out. Cuz thats right by my house.

when i left my house this morning it looked like it was getting a little brighter...

Just talked with a friend of mine that lives on the coast...he said there is talk that some of the fires won't stop until they hit the ocean. That's scary...

My brother is a Captain in the Newport beach Fire Department....I better give him a call and see whats up where he is at.

my brother in law is a fighter for escondido fd. he said it was chaos and way more dangerous than the 03 fires.

I hope injuries are kept to a minimum...
