So whats going on with the CPE Motor Mount, id they just stop working on it, I htought th esecond batch was supposed to come out a little while ago, even after the rubber problems.

I have this on order as well, the e-mail I got 2 weeks ago said 3-4 weeks out. Hopefully have it within 2 weeks...

A couple days ago on the other Mazda forum, CPE said 3-4 more weeks. I ordered some inserts to hold me over. Who knows, they might be enough for me. We'll see.

ken have you heard anything bad come back about them since people have had some time now to get some miles on them

no i have not. cp-e is, i am sure, just trying to be overtly cautious before giving the green light to put them back on the street.

Sorry, but what was the issue with them? I've been searching and I can't find any info on what happened with the CP-E MM.

I'm looking to buy a MM within the next couple weeks, and from what I've read CP-E seems to be very good about keeping vibes low. Although Medieval sounds promising too....

The first run of the CP-E motor mount had a bad pour of rubber. The duro tolerance was supposed to be +/-5, but it ended up instead +/-15, so those with lower than acceptable durometer would tear.

I was about to order one until I talked to someone who had one and took it out. He said that it stopped wheel hop but didn't do anything for traction loss. I have the inserts now and have eliminated most of my wheel hop.

He said they are basically the same except the mount wont wear out like the inserts. Thoughts?

I think that you will find that most of the aftermarket mm's will decrease wheel hop.
They all will probably decrease traction though too.
The reason being that you are now transferring the torque that was rocking the engine to the drive wheels.
I had the TRZ mm and went to the CP-E.
The CP-E felt smoother vibe-wise.
I didn't like the feel that I got while shifting compared to the TRZ.
It wasn't as smooth as the TRZ.
I am one that can live with the TRZ vibes because I really like the difference it makes while shifting.
So I went back to the TRZ.
However since CP-E is coming out with an option for a stiffer durometer mm I may give it another try.
That's my $.02

Since I drive around family members and my girl a lot, I need to keep vibes at a minimum, hence the inserts. if cp-e comes stiffer without a jump in vibes, I will grab one for sure. if I don't like it, sell it.
