i also love rock music.....i have 2 12" Kicker Cvr's that run 450 watts max.....there bigger so if u wanted a lot of bass you could get it....but they hit real clean and clear and quick with the gain down....they're very cheap too, $130-$150 for both of them. Most people think that two twelve inchers would be too much for rock but its really about perfect....i have two 6.5" pioneers in the back and two clarion 4.5" in the front.....they are high treble speakers so it balances out to a very loud, very crisp sound system

I'm not exactly sure how a 2X12 sub would meet my needs of a compact subwoofer...
