whys the front higher then the rear..?

anyways..

this dude wants to sell me rx8 rims with size 225/45r18 tires.. would i have a problem fitting those on my msp? but i wanted to change the tires from his to mine, but i dont think they will fit... they are 215 45 17

im asking you. the only thing i have learned with my msp has been with the engine..

this is the first time i have ventured into tires/brakes/susp.

so help lol

From what I've read here, you might not want to lower the thing at all if you are gonna try to go with the rx-8 18s until they are test fit and then you can tell how much room you have to play with and then buy the appropriate strut/spring combo. IIRC, people with rx-8 rims are runnin a 235/35/18 tire.

You need 18" tires on 18" wheels my 9yo knows this...but a 225/45/18 is alot of tire but with the right offset they should work. You will need spacers because I think rx-8 wheels are close to 50mm offset and you need closer to 45mm in order to not rub.

OOOHHH Christian..... This thread is soooo fail. What are you doing buddy, your a freaking mess!!!
there is no way you can run 17" tires on an 18 inch rim. They come different sizes for a reason.
That goes back the preschool trying to fit the big ball in the small hole!!!
I had to just skim through all the posts cause I felt bad for you.
Just post some pics of everything. Pics of your suspension, your brakes, everything. So we can try and sort you out. the brakes is super easy...for most. I've never tried suspension cause I don't have the proper alignment tools but I'm sure there are tricks around that.
JUST POST PICS SO WE CAN HELP YOU BETTER.

well in my freaking defense here buddys..

I bought Msp springs, because my car is a msp OBV.

Then when I went to put the springs on I noticed that the struts are a litttle funny, and look exactley like my old ones on my last reg protege.. So now i have a car in my garage thats not driveable because I can't get off my but and change out the springs because the look to good. and when i change them out ill be back to monster truck status...

there done with susp.

Now to tires..

You're right all.. I'm very sad in the tire thing.. I pretty much dont have any knowledge on this aspect. i know it's pretty sad..

But whatever.

I know it wasn't your fault about the suspension you got had by the PO!! That ******* sucks. I would be pretty pissed about that. But if you take some pics we can help you with the rest if he downgraded the suspension who knows what else was altered. I'm willing to bet he, removed it and sold it then sold the car.

the hieght doesn't look all that bad...
No I'm not a Fire Fighter.....That would be my dad, although I am on the List.
I'm actually an ER Nurse and if it matters I still hold an active EMT license.
Why?

idk just wondering..

my brothers a firefighter/paramedic

yeah it doesnt look that bad in this pic but in realy life lol you can barley sit in the car without smelling of burnt rubber and constantley hearing it rub

You sure you put the right springs in the right locations? Make sure you didn't put the front springs in the rear. I'd suggest getting some friends who have worked on cars before to help you next time. I'm all for trying to do it yourself and trying to learn how, but you really need to read up on how this stuff works, how to properly work on a car, and watch people do it first. Consider what would happen if you might be going around a turn and the bolt you forgot to torque down came out? We're not talking about just money here when you screw something up, we're talking about your safety and personal well being...

Good luck bud

Yeah man thanks for the input. But yeah I pit the right springs in te right locations. Like Zuku was saying that the perch height on the reg protege struts are lower than the ones on the msp, so it's not technically my fault, but the retard before me. Faults.
