i was 1st on the waiting list for a pearl white base + sport package in stick
took 3 mos but it arrived yesterday. went to look at it
s*** is bad ass looking, really nice interior also, compared to the 350z.

driving impressions, you feel pretty much every bump on the road, but i like it.
it feels really slow, and you can tell it's a heavy car, even tho it's only 150lbs or so more than us. maybe i just cant live w/o boost anymore. it honestly felt like my car was faster, v6 sounded great. main reason i was thinking about trading my car in was because i wanted to go back to rwd, i miss my old mr2.
and the Z looked like the good fit.

so i went in, asked them for s**** and giggles what #'s can you work?
LMAO they offered me 12.5k on my trade in.
i asked for my keys back and walked out, they said we'll give you 13.5k
what a joke, is this really what our car is worth ?
the price i got quoted was 31,419 + TTL which is about 2500 under msrp for the Z, maybe they just tried to make that back on my trade.

oh well, if the #'s worked out even tho it felt slower, i probably would have done it, it looks like sex in pearl white and i would just cruise at that point and not worry about going fast anymore.

this was a bad review i know, the main point i wanted to make was the killer trade in offer they gave me (gun)

$13,500 was all they offered me for my car, NADA and Edmunds have it at $15,000 for clean trade in. I'm trying to by an S2000, no one is budging on their prices, which are about $3000 more than they should be just because they think its so goddamn worth it.

**** haggling, I'm going through Costco

yeah, sound likes they were giving u a low price on the car and shorting you on the trade in. someone always told me to get a price on the car set in stone, then get a value for the trade in.

but yeah, F that.. go look at the GEN coupe.. i might be trading in in a year

I mean... you can't really expect the dealer to give you the retail value on your vehicle... otherwise they can't turn it around for a profit. I say if you want the 370 then part out the MS3, and sell it through cars.com or something like that and get what you want for it... then see if Nissan can cut you a deal on a 370z. It's worth a shot...

yea you can't be too mad at that price as a trade in, the dealer makes more money on selling used inventory than new cars. besides, they gotta start lower than what they expect you to think your car is worth. if they think you think it's worth what NADA or kelly bluebook than they're gonna offer less

and i think nissan/infiniti are offering good deals anyway. my dad got his g37 that had $5k off sticker

leave the crack alone the 370z is so far from slow its crazy you would say that. not to mention you are driving a car that isnt broken in. it would murder us.

car and driver ran a 13.1 at 108. other than that its been posting 13.2-.13.3 at 107 by edmunds and others.

i always said that the 370z stock would be able to hit 12's with the right driver. and i was talking to a guy who hit 12.8 in his stock 370z.

370z>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>MS3

Pearl White is def sex. looks very classy. the car actaully competes with the Cayman now in class. while outperforming the Cayman

and just so you can get an idea of how fast the 370z is and how much faster than the 350zHR is. first we know the 350Z HR is a tad faster than a E46 M3. now watch how the 370z pulls on the 350z HR from a dig and roll

on top of that. im tired of peope saying our cars are faster than 350z's stock or with intake. we are not. we are slower than DE 350z's let alone Rev UPs and especially HR's. stock i didnt stand a chance. with intake. at 2nd gear roll i would jump on my boys in his 04 350z by a car and pull another half. by mid 4th(my car) gear he stopped me from pulling and started gaining. by the time im in 5th gear. hes closing the gap and by 120-125 hes caught me and coming around me. people in MS3's lightly modded racing and beating people in DE 350z's even are racing people who cant drive their Z. even with intake, bov, tp and turbo inlet. i could still only hold him off for so long before he comes back around me on the top end not to mention hes in 5th by the time he passes me and has one whole gear left. the VQ's topend is nasty. i know. i use to have a G35.

it wasnt until i got my AP, running stage 2+SF map when my top end improved drastically. now i can jump on in his car in 2nd and keep pulling and stay ahead til 140. and my car has always been a bit of a freak.

240ka, oh i know the 370z is fast as s***, i just said it "felt" really slow and heavy
i understand once broken in it will feel much better, right around the 3500-5000 mile mark.
and like i said also, its probably just the boost that is making me feel the ms3 is right there
even tho it would kill us lol, i'm a realist, our car is good for what it is, i'm not delusional

mitsubishi and lexus offered me 16.5k for my car about 2 weeks ago when i was looking at the evo and a used is350.
but i hesitated and the evo's are gone now, and i didn't want to go to an automatic

here is what i just pulled from nada for my car
08 gt w/18k miles

Base Price $15,050 $16,250 $17,225 $20,150
------------ rough -- average-- clean--- retail

i really think they were giving me trade in value for a regular mazda3 hatchback but they said no, it's for your car.
honestly i expected 16k for my car and i would have taken it

i am perfectly fine with keeping my car, maybe it's time to get an AP.

ok my bad. i read alittle too deeply into it. its defboost thatmakes our carsfeelreallyfast. compared to the smooth powerband of theZ

if you can deal with a two seater for a DD. id say call around to other nissan dealers. try and find a lower volume dealer and see whatthey offer you

13g's is BS

i can tell you right now that the z will hand it to a speed 3 i had an 07 350z with the 306 hp motor in it and damn that thing ripped i took out cars that i couldnt do with my speed3 **** i miss that car so much lol

The 370Z didn't feel as fast as an MS3 because the MS3 turbo kicks in low to give you all that low end grunt but then power falls off around 5600 rpm as where the 370Z builds power across the powerband and all the way to redline.

you could try out one of those carmax type places, i think they usually give more money than a dealer would. when we were getting rid of a jeep liberty they gave us $5k when dealers were only going to give around $2.5-3k for a trade-in. only thing is they give non-negotiable offers based souly on professional appraisers and NADA

and then there's always the private party seller route, which you end up getting the most value for

I understand what you are saying, but I wouldn't use Edmunds, road and track, car and driver etc. as a definate source, the manufactures give them a slightly tweaked car and a little extra cash to enhance their story.

I miss my 350 everyday, but at least i have a fun and practical car now. The 370 is pure sex...

i didn't like the 370 at all when i first saw it, i really like it now though. im not surprised at all that they only offered you 13,500 for the speed3. i want to trade it in for something so bad, but by the time i parted out, got it back to stock, sold the aftermarket parts, and traded it in i might as well throw money out the window.

i don't think that's entirely true. i remember seeing a 2 year old civic SI for sale on a Lexus lot for like $100 dollars less than a new one. granted, that gives them some room to work but still. that's insane.

I'll agree that 12.5k is low... but the dealer won't be able to sell that thing for any less than 18k to get profit. Tell them that Lexus/Mitsu was willing to give you 15k at least and if they won't then tell them you're going to pick up an Evo.

i kinda want to test drive the 370z now and see how this sportmatic clutch thing feels. the idea of the car auto-blipping the throttle is pretty badass

The more our cars keep blowing up the less resale they all will have. I have read many times from publications on picking used car buys and they all say to stay away from turbo cars. Boosted engines are under more stress and wear faster than NA cars. That all said, I still love my car and did not buy it for resale value.
