So I saw this dude looking at my car as I was going home from the Mazda Rev It Up Tou

Well, he was talking to me about how he was thinking about going to the Mazda dealership and order the turbo from Japan and since there's a turbo from Mazda for the Protege5, he said it won't void the warranty since the mazda dealership will install it for him.
Is he for real? I dunno cause he was like in his 30s probably and didn't look like he would know squat about our car. He didn't even know about this forum and I told him to come check it out.

in japan the Protege5 is called the Sport20, you can get it with AWD and a 170hp engine
the engine is not turbocharged, it runs differnt cams and it has 10.7:1 compression pistons, the ECU they have also gives it some extra power

people have tried using the FS-ZE over hear but because the ECU we got is gay the engine does not make its full power

It may not have been complete BS. My salesman offered to source me a complete turbo from a 'Speed and have it installed at the dealership. Therefore, it would be covered under warranty. Now, the salesman might be full of it, but at least some of what the dude told you was probably true. However, being that he was in his 30's, he doesn't know jack. Right?

When I stated that it may not have been total bulls***, I was referring to the dealer telling the customer that he could do it. Surely, the customer was misled, if this is the case. As I also stated, I was offered a similar deal, although the parts coming from Japan was never mentioned. Chances are, the guy was misinformed, at best.

The turbo kits are installed by a company in CT. Can't remember the name of the CO. though. There are other kits that make much more power than the MSP turbo but you have to be careful because the reason they kept the boost of the MSP so low was to prevent damage to the tranny over the long haul.

I thought that teh dealers were forbidden to sell MSP parts to none MSP owners, I was told by the parts guy at my dealership that there was some kind of "exchange procedure". Any dealership not following protocol risked losing the rite to sellign MSP. Could be a bit of BS though.

you can not purchase the mazdaspeed turbo kit through a mazda parts department. The motorsport department of mazda does stock the whole turbo kit, but the general public can't buy from the motorsports department. I think you have to be an avid racer who competes regularly then you can sign up to be a member and purchase the parts through them.

believe it or not, when i bought the DX..there is a turbo system available through the dealer..it was like 6000$ but, whatever..i'm sure it was just the mazdaspeed gear..nothing crazy..It wasn't my dealer, but another one in the state.
