So i called Cobb regarding my tuning and they said with the mods i have done with my car , there is no map for it . They gave me a e-mail address and told me to email this guy and tell him what i have done with my car and they will be able to create me a map just for my car , then they are going to email me the map !!!! So i guess thats good , the guy at Cobb said not to run the car until i get that map i need

I would assume the guy you are referring to would be Christian. He has been the man behind most if not all of the ms6 tunes so far. I am not sure if he does all of Cobb's tuning via email. He will send you a base map, but you will need to do some data logging for him to fine tune and adjust for fuel and timing. Out of curiosity, what are your mods?

Only Corksport FMIC , GT3076R , Corkport Top mount intake , Downpipe , no mufflers or cat , thats it , and the guy at COBB said if i were you i would not drive the car with out the right map . So i was like ******

you were probably ok driving as long as you didn't get on it a lot. i have been working with christian for about 3 months now helping him to develop maps.

well i was told to talk with a guy name john S ??? idk if any of you know him , but yeah . So i emailed him and lets hope i can get a map made for my car ! ! !

It's kind of a chicken-and-egg thing though - to get a map done you're gonna have to drive it and drive it a wot to get the tuner some logs ... UNLESS the tuner has already done a similar combo to you and will just sell you the map??

well the guy that i talked to said that they will email me a free map ???!!!! So i dont know ill just go from what he said and go from there hehe

dont take my word for it, but I would think it would be safe to drive the car VERY VERY gently. no boost, no wot, only rev to about 2500 rpms before shifting and do so as gently as possible... With your Cobb, you can monitor Knock, as long as thats 0.0 id guess its ok. but they are the experts and not me,..

yeah , after COBB said that i was like **** ummmmmm i dont want to drive my car anymore till i get that map . But i was thinking the same thing that you are . I was like well hell drive easy and no WOT and i should be fine but idk after what COBB said hehe

alright sweet !!! Glad to hear that . the car is at the dealership right now because some how the stock oil return like cracked , dont ask how because i dont know lol . But yeah once i get it back ill be happy

oh no , it wasnt the oil return line . They found to many copper rings around the Oil feed and they said thats what was causing the leak

A car with a turbo upgrade and you think an E-Mail tune is gonna work......Good Luck Bro.

Would love to see what your car is gonna do. Not to bash anybody but we all know there is no proven system/tune w/ the AP especially w/ the Garrett turbos.
Codd does not know what your car is doing in real time. You are putting your car at risk.
You need to get on the dyno and dyno tune my friend. That is the real way of tuning. Even pro-tuning w/ the accessport like the suby guys.

With the subarus Cobbs got it nailed down. With our cars, not quite yet.

Just slapping on a GT series turbo, reprogramming the ecu with a map by someone physically not by your car is asking for a blown block. It does not work like that.

Good Luck

Not sure I agree with you Yoichi, unless you're talking a generic off-the-shelf map then yes that's not good.

There's no reason why if the owner sends to Cobb some datalogging, that the tune can't be done over e-mail. It'll take many attempts to perfect it but it's worked for us beta-testers with different mods.

In fact, personally, I prefer a road-tune over a dyno-tune on this car as you get real world airflow over the intercooler and real world load on the engine ... both something you most likely won't get on a dyno (unless they've got a monster fan and a load-based dyno).

i understand where you are coming from yoichi , but it looks like my MS6 will no longer be a DD im going to be buying a CX-7 for my DD so i have time to spend with the MS6 and tune it right , but as of right now in low to no boost the car runs fine , so i know i have a lot more stuff to do with the car but hey it takes time ya know

Nothing beats a tuner physically sitting in your car and tuning. no question. Im not putting down the AP in no way. The AP is an amazing device for the subaru but again, a protune is much better without question as each car has its real world conditions.

That is why many diehard tuners are visited by customers all over the country. That is the one and only way to do it right.

Spending thousands on your car with only top notch parts and then getting a email tune that you may be skeptical about is absolutely pointless imo.

If there is no one around you, ship the car or physically make the trip.
