So am I just an idiot for not figuring this out before?

We have periods of very intense wind here.

My gas cover doesn't go swinging around.
All I have to say is this spring-loaded gas door is a feature on all the vehicles I've owned. This's another example Mazda is trying to save a penny but I don't agree with.

The gas cap holder is not as obvious on the CX-5 as on some other vehicles. I knew to use it as I had it since 2003 on my "E".

if my 2016 ever had that I never noticed it but when I was filling up the other day I noticed the handle rest there, almost made a post about it too so don't feel bad about not knowing lol.

Filled up the MiLs Jeep yesterday. Man, talk about a flinsy gas cap holder. Wow. #junk.

Lol. Makes no sense. Mine would often have blown shut before I even removed the pump handle. Just looking at it wrong caused it to swing shut.

Mine has strange writing inside the fuel cap holding device........

That's a famous designer clothes company. Making gas caps now apparently.

5 years of just leaving the gas cap dangling when filling up. And yet all this time, the solution was right there.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who didn't know this.
LOL! Well at least now you know :)

That's cruel Anchorman. I badly wanted the diesel. We'll see if I'm willing to take the $5K hit, or whatever it is, to upgrade when it comes to the US. I'm talking just depreciation and taxes, not the premium for the better car.
