Snow!

Before I get to the pictures, I don't want to get any lip from people that see this much snow regularly (especially Buffalo!)
It's been at least 15 years since we've had a proper blizzard in these parts....and Mother Nature decided to unload both barrels.

SO at 10am today, I went out and shoveled the drive of about 9-10 inches of snow. It hadn't been too windy, so there wasn't an excessive amount of drifts and the 20 degrees didn't feel so cold.
7pm rolls around, and the snow hasn't let up one bit. The wind has picked up however... After spending the better part of an hour helping a couple neighbors get into their respective driveways, I decided it was time for the other Kodak moment.

The now not-so-clear-and-drifted driveway:

The city plows came by, but had trouble with all the drifts in the street. I cleared off the apron--you can almost make out where the driveway ends and where the plows were.

the street is one lane only now, and barely passable.

The back yard:

The wall on the back property line is 3 feet tall. You can only see the row of extra concrete cylinders sitting on top...

This statue is in the middle of the yard, and sits on a 1 foot tall pedestal:

There's roughly a 4-foot wall/drop/fence down to the neighbor's yard...

Now for the kicker... This area (Maple Heights) is an inner-ring suburb just to the southeast of Cleveland. We're just on the southwestern edge of the snow belt for the area. Out there, they usually get twice what we get!

...oh, and it's still snowing...

(sorry for some of the out-of-focus pictures. Mr. Shaky still had plenty of adrenaline in his system from trying to help the neighbors...)

damn . i love snow . well i would love to visit a place where it snows not have to live there full time . i wouldnt leave the house.

trust me. It's more trouble than it's worth.

I wish for a place where it is perpetually late-Spring and suffers no extreme weather/geology. If such a plate existed, I'd move in a heartbeat.

There's a limit to how much I'll tolerate >.>

When there's a driving ban county-wide, and you can be arrested for driving around? Yeah. That's too much.

I feel sorry for people living in Summit County right now...

During the blizzard.

Day after. Note that is a full wall of snow to the left from the ground up.

Is that all you got!
This is yesterday morning..I had already cleared the cars off the night before and shoveled the drivway as well...It was still snowing and dumped about another 6'' on top of the 10 you see here.
Check out the 2 foot on the poor 'ol P5
Friggin' ridiculous!

I'm not looking forward to digging out...

The drift running the length of the house is at least 3' tall. The low points of the drifts across the rest of the driveway are up to my knees (almost 2')
The only clear spot is immediately around my car, and the apron I shoveled last night.

Crazy... Believe it or not, all the way up here in canada, we havn't had snow for 3 weeks, and it's been about 50*F for two weeks!

Bastards!
Here is today after it started melting..I had to get a quick pic of how much snow really fell considering I didnt touch the snow on the protege.

get that cbr under a roof and show it some love. saw some other pics over at /26 of the bike in the snow. brought a tear to my eye. been lurkin over there ever since i bought a 02 f4i;)

I know I know..My 929 is in the garage though.....But yeah..it was under a cover until about three weeks ago...and go figure we get the worst weather we've had all winter.
I just have ENTIRELY too much work going on in the garage right now to have it in there..Its safer sitting in the weather ya know.

And what site are you talking about..I am trying to figure out where you saw pics at..I didn't realize I posted them somewhere else.
It sucks...There is a BOAT ton of money wrapped up in that bike too.....I have about $4000 in extras on it.
Oh well..it'll be in the garage soon enough.

Sacrifices for the P5....Just got to do it.

you could always store your bike at my house ForceFed? Live just South of Springboro. :)

here are my pics. One of during the blizzard and one of me clearing the driveway...

It's been a light winter for snow in the Denver, CO metro area. I miss the snow. Oh well. It's almost time to put the summer wheels/tires back on! WEEEEE!!!
