any suggestions for tire sizes and rim size...stock rims are 17" with 2055017 tires want something for winter with good traction but would like to go with 15" rims for affordability what types of sizes wouldnt throw out the speedo to much...any feedback would be greatly appreciated...
(thought)

Go with the 16" wheels and 205/55 X 16 snows. I have a set of brand new 16" steel wheels if you want them. Better having steel wheels for winter so the nice ones don't get ruined....

yeah for sure....how much are you looking at for tires that size.....

Try looking on www.tirerack.com. The site can be a bit confusing, but just select your make/model, and then after you get to the page, click "winter tires" at the top. You should then be able to select a tire/wheel combo. They already mount them, and balance them for you, and it should be cheaper than $1k CND, that is, if you're willing to deal w/ steelies, which I assume is the case.

$1K CDN is about right. That's what I paid for my 16" steelies and Hakk 2's. You won't find a much better deal than that (unless you know somebody) for 16" steelies and snows. On the 3 GT you can't go any smaller than 16" because the size of the calipers.

thanks everyone for all of their suggestions, mine shouldnt be coming in until middle of march so I should be alright for this year but will definitely want to look into it for next winter

Also you dont have the tire pressure sensors option either do you. Cause if you do, hope you like hearing that beeping noise once you take off the stock wheels.
