SMIC & HardPipes

browse the forum looking at different builds or engine bay pics to get an idea of what you would need for pipes and what angles you would need to route them throughout the bay. If you can find pipes with beaded ends, even better, but not required. It's just a little assurance.

Right on man! Thanks for all the help!

Mishimoto has a special edition core that's gold would look sick on a black car. Down side is its $420

You obviously don't under stand how it works. I'm at 16 psi around 3500 rpms and your saying that buy me runing an fmic I won't see 16 psi untill 7000 rpms? No. People runing my setup with an fmic hit 16 psi between 3750-4000.

At no point did I say anything about what RPM you would see 16psi. The time it takes to go from 0 psi to Xpsi has many variables. All I am saying is that whatever that number is, be it 1ns or 10 minutes, you will double it if you double the volume of intake piping. I don't see how I can make it any simpler than that. I "under stand" most forum members are not engineers, but even the least educated minds should be able to handle this.

Yeah I saw that one! Looks freaking sick, although spending an extra $200 for it to be painted gold is a little ridiculous. Lol

So, I found a performance shop near me that manufactures custom piping. All that I need now is a template with the shortest piping route possible while keeping the possibility of a relocated MAF and BOV/BPV set-up included.

O that explains why you have no common sense. You need to know more about how this works before bashing everybody on the forum. Because you obviously don't know as much as you think you do

Tweety, you keep saying that it is obvious, but you have yet to point to anything I've said that is incorrect. The bashing was directed just at you, I apologize if anyone else thinks otherwise.

The OP has made up his mind and I think he made the right choice for him. He asked for our opinions and I simply posted why I made the decision I did. I tried to provide some actual data partly to satisfy my own curiosity, but it is merely an estimate as stated.

I did take a look at my data logs and they match up pretty well with my estimate. At 2500 in 2nd gear, if I hold the throttle at 30% and maintain NA pressure and press full throttle as quickly as I can, I reach my boost limit of 7.5psi in .750 seconds, but it takes me .250 to open the throttle. MAP really bounces around a lot, it is not a steady value, so it's hard to pin point an exactly when you are at peak boost.
