Smelling gas fumes

Get a used one! That is waaaay tooo much.

They don't fail often. Most issues are just the top access panel seal leaking.

Its not named on this diagram but just above number 2, were the fuel lines connect, that plastic piece had a hair line crack in it. He originally ordered everything which was 580 but he foud out he could order just that one piece( housing, not sure what to call it) and it was only like 280 from the stealership.

I have called every scrap yard in the GTA and no one has MP5's , its a real hard car to find used parts for here.

OK, I have this exact same problem, I replaced my gas tank due to an unsuccessful removal of the sending unit. my 8 screws were so corroded that I couldn't replace them and had to chisel the head screw off. Gas is still leaking. thanks to this thread, this would explain the gas leak. There is a small hairline crack on the top plastic piece where the 2 harness connectors and 2 fuel lines are.

you can but just that piece for 280$? wow. . would anyone know what that part # is called????
