Depends on the tire more than you would think. I think 205 in the right tire wouldn't look stretched. Assuming you go with a tire that runs wide. (RS3? R1R?) If you're staying with "mainstream" tires, then 215-225 would be more in line.
That's speaking only to the "stretched" aspect of the question. You didn't give enough info, nor do i know enough about your car to tell you whether or not you'll rub with said tire size.
OG whats your offset on your 16x8 rims? thats the exact size rim i have but mine have a +38 offset and i have not rolled my fenders...in know the rims mount to the car but the tires on there now are from my fisrt car (ford probe) and the tire size currently is a 225/50/16 and the fender digs into those tires on just the slightest of bumps...i soon will be dropping the car on springs that go 2"
0 offset.
yea, get rid of those 225/50's quick, especially if you're going to lower it 2in.
with a 205/40 you'll probably be ok with a fender roll since you're not slamming it real low.
have a look at this site just to give you an idea of the differences of our offsets.
so i would def need to roll the fenders on this setup then? im just new to this type of stuff and need to know exactly what i need to do b4 i spend the money....and if i need to roll fenders where would i get a fender roller?
pretty sure you will. ask around your area and see if any members have a roller or maybe a local autoshop might rent one to you.
or you could get a heat gun and a rubber mallet and do it yourself.
