SLS Performance Front Motor Mount

is it ok to replace the passenger mount but not driver's mount? it seems to me like they should both be changed at the same time :-\

does the engine have to be supported for the side mounts? i know it doesn't for the front but what about sides?

well i ordered the FMM a few minutes ago...it was like 61 dollars, gah! can't wait til the summer when i get more money.

Hello,

any one of you have install this sls motor mount can do a compare between

sls motor mount , the insert , the awr motor mount and oem motor mount filled with urethane. I woodlike know between those witch one give less vibration and hash ride.

any one of you tried the sls front motor mount and the rear one oem filled with urethane.

Thank

seb

Compared to oem filled mount, this one has pretty much the same amount of vibrations, but less engine movement. Probably because after a while of driving, the filling started to detach from the surrounding rubber.

What the heck?!?! I was waiting till this Tuesday (pay day) to order the side and front mount, and the price changed over the weekend!

Front $49.99->$59.99

Side $79.99->$89.99

I hope it now includes shipping, because if not, that's messed up.

edit:confirmation that it does not include shipping.(bang)

Yeah, I think they were having a sale before.

well i got my mount today and i must say i am quite disappointed...and i havent even installed it. there are scratches and dents all over the thing, it looks like it's been installed before or at least someone tried to install it. not to mention one of the inserts is too far away from the mount. so i emailed sls to see what they say. like kansei said, their new ones have the sls logo on them and this one doesnt.

Mine was kinda like that too. No sticker, pretty scratched up for something new. But meh, it worked just fine.

was this supposed to come w/ two or 3 bolts? what about nuts? it takes 3 to put it on but mine only has two bolts and no nuts...do you reuse one of the stock bolts or something.

was one of the inserts farther away than the other? and how many nuts/bolts did yours come w/? is there a left and right side to this or is in universal?

You need two bolts and two nuts to mount it, you re-use the long bolt and nut from inside the stock mount.

it didnt come with any nuts for the two short bolts so do i reuse the ones from the stock mount?

is there a left or right to the mount and what about the gap from the one insert?

You can reuse the nuts from the stock mount, the only reason why you cant use the stock nuts is because there not really nuts, there just threads on the bottom of the mount. I used my stock nuts and they fit just fine, and no there isnt a front or a back to the mount. Not that I know of anyways. Can you push the other insert back in at all? I mean I really wouldnt be worried about it though.

they emailed me back and said to push it in, but i tried and it didnt go. so i'll try again

no need to support anything when doing the swap is there? i dont have a breaker bar and i only weigh 150 pounds so this should be interesting :)

lol, yeah your gonna need a long hollow pipe or something to put on the end of your ratchet, trust me, it will help a lot. And no, you dont need to support anything, the other 3 mounts will hold everything up.

and i fixed the insert, i just had to push on it differently. so hopefully soon i can get it in...i dont have a breaker bar though so i might go get one. are there torque specs for it?
