SL500 givin some respect to the P5...

so i was driving home last night along the 290 in chicago in rush-hour traffic and this guy passes me in the next lane driving a sweet SL500. as he passed me, i saw him staring at my car (black bone-stock P5 with 20% tint all the way around)...he ended up turning his head all the way around as he passed...i think he was looking to see the badge on my grill. i can just imagine his surprise when he saw that he was admiring a "lowly" mazda! it's nice when even stockers get some respect!

theres a lexus sport wagon a few spots down from me in my parking garage at work.. both his and mine are white.. and from 30 feet (to those untrained they look pretty darn close). granted anyone on this board would spot the diff right away - but its weird to see how similar they are.

saw an is300 sitting at a red light waiting to turn left.... he was sitting in the outer lane.. I was in the Inner lane .... a Shared look.... a Smile.... a Nod ..... and it was on ..... Soon as the light turned Green , we both dropped the hammer.... I hugged that turn tight while he tried to do the same ..... a couple of seconds of screeching later ..... he was down the street that he was turning on ....... and I ... had completed my U-Turn ...

I got the "thumbs up" from a couple of kids sitting in the back of their mom's Escalade last week. It made my day.

yeah, i'm used to being in ontario where you see P5's all over the place and nobody gives you a second look. down here it's completely different.

I was at the movies last night, catching the last showing of "The Italian Job" (that movie makes me want to buy a MINI! )

Anyhow, my car was one of the last in the parking lot, and, lo and behold, there is a yellow P5 parked across from me ... on its way out. I hit the unlock button and flashed my hazards, then I yelled "Nice car!" from across the lot and both guys in the yellow P5 gave me the thumbs up. That made my night.
