A bunch of other Mazda members are trying to get a group together to go on a Skyline Drive. The Skyline Drive is located in the Shannandohas exit 300 I believe for I81 and at the end of I66 West. I'm not 100% sure but for thoughs who have been on the drive before please elaborate about the various meet points, exits and routes that we can take. I will keep both Forums/Threads updated with everyones input and useful information. The two dates that are being debated are july 14th or july 21st.

Post away!!

***Update!***

Sorry for the long delay, I just wanted to make sure we had an official date before I continued. The date is Set for the July 21st!! For thoughs of you who have been on the skyline run before where are some decent meet spots where everone can gather together and head out?? Also I want to get a head count so we can have an idea of who is coming.

Hey, that's my country out there! I've been up there a few times but I don't really know of any meet points on the drive. I'd definitely be up for a drive though! Need to watch the speed a little though - cops sit around a few places just looking for guys like us out to have a good time. Also, some parts of the road have a lot of gravel on them...

yeah ive been camping out in that area, its really nice out there and id totally make the long ass drive from PA to meet up for something like this.

There's also a fair amount of good mountain roads further south on I81. I don't know the routes from memory but I could ask some of the CCVT people what roads they are. We always take them on our cruises but I'm usually having too much fun to pay attention where I'm going. A word of caution though, these roads are very dangerous at high speeds (read: above 45 mph). From memory, we (CCVT) have had one RX7 drift into the side of a mountain and a Porsche nearly go over the edge (damn good save). I myself about understeered into a rock wall. It's a fun road but you gotta be on your toes...

here are some reference pics...
ive got a vid floatin around somewhere...

That actually sounds about right. I just know it's a big motorcycle road as well. It's gotta be hell on them...

Yeah we had a couple guys on cycles follow us up there back in April. Man were they complaining the whole time - I don't blame them though; I had a hard enough time myself keeping traction with the front wheels...
