Skunk2 Suspension

I found out next week skunk2 is releasing the coilover springs for the mp3 and protege5.....They said it is about $350......This will be the first aftermarket I will do to my car......I decided to put money in lowering it more........The car will handle a little better and it will look a lot cleaner, hopefully.......

I would talk to some of the other mp3 owners that have done coilovers and find out what the handleing will do. i will most defenitly look awsome but my experience with coil overs is that they give one hell of a tight ride.

Thanks for the feedback.......I just noticed that there is already a topic about this.....You are right i dont want the ride to be real uncomfortable......I do understand when you lower it, the ride will always change.....So i will now look and see what other companies might be better......... The reason i want coilovers is because if it is too low, i can adjust the height......So please anyone give some more suggestions because i am planning on lowering it real soon...What about neuspeed, eibach, toicko, jic and more.......I believe jic is the best for the mazdamp3 but it seems too pricey..........Our car already has toicko on it, should i stay with the same company????????

Nice to see other companies looking into our cars as having a potential market. Skunk2's usually have pretty high spring rates, so do expect to have a stiffer ride. Hopefully they won't have the same problem that GC had. Skunk had some nice exhaust systems coming out for the Civic and WRX. Hopefully they'll make some for ours. As far as JIC goes....I doubt you'll see anything better on the market for the Protege as far as their suspension pieces go. Where did you hear that Skunk is making coilovers for Mazda's, they don't have anyting on their webpage.

I was reading this months import magazine......They had a half page of skunk2 products under the listing it said mp3 and p5....I wasn't sure myself so I called them........The guy said the realease date is this week for the mp3 and p5.............

In las vegas the guy who i have gone to, to fix up my car is asking way too much money for the coilovers and installation.....my best friend lives in LA so his guy will install the coilovers for $150 instead of $350 as told in las vegas......He can also get skunk2 and other companies for a lot cheaper.........I am for now on, coming out to cali, for aftermarket.........This pissed me off because i have known this guy for years and brought him lots of business.........Or maybe because there is only two places that really work on the engine aspect of aftermarket cars in vegas......as in LA there are tons of aftermarket places.........anyway cali is the place for aftermarket.........
