Ski resorts open on Thanksgiving

Another early start to the ski/snowboard season this year !!! (thumb)
Pretty much all the ski resorts up North were open for Thanksgiving weekend. Made the trek up to Nubs Nob on Sat. Weather and snow Conditions couldn't have been better. Can't wait for some more real snow fall up there !!

Thinking it's time to look for a new snowboard though.......................................

I almost went there saturday. Ended up going to Crystal Mountain instead. They had more runs open.

Ya know, kinda funny. I usually go to Crystal but I have a friend that has a cottage 7 miles from Nubs. Works out nice having a place so close. How was it at Crystal ? It was pretty nice at Nubs. Do you board or ski ?

Been skiing for 18 years. Never boarded a day in my life. Not that I have anything against it, I just enjoy skiing so much. Crystal was great. They even had the bowl open.

That's gotta be a bit of a hike from Ferndale too eh !! How long does it take you to get there ? You'll have to let me know next time you are going up. We'll make it a mini meet !! I have tried see if there was any interest in going but I never got any responses....... Although, it's been a while. Let's give it another shot.


Anybody ski or snowboard and wanna maybe meet up sometime ??????

I was up there visiting some friends that live in Traverse City. Next time I head up that way I'll have to send you a PM. A group trip would be a lot of fun too.

I think I am on like year #5 on the snowboard. I have never been on skis. It's a blast once you get the hang of it. I about killed myself a few times before I figured it out. Piece of cake now, unless I'm trying to do something stupid of course........ I took a pretty good header Sat. Not even really doing anything dumb. Kinda landed goofy off a bit of a jump. Lots of powder where I bailed so it wasn't too bad.

Cool, I got some friends over there too. Hell yeah, let me know. Even if you are heading out somewhere downstate. I have never been anywhere down that way. Is there anything good ? Mt. Brighton is about all I know of.......

Everything down here pretty much sucks. But I still go 'cause I try to get out as much as possible and Mt. Brighton, Mt. Holly, and Pine Knob are all only 45 min. from me.

Mt. Brighton has got to be pretty close to that distance from me as well. Maybe even a little less......... We'll have to try to hook up sometime.
