Siruis Radio deal

Here's the deal as I got it last year...
You call the number, and say you want the free equipment offer. They ship you the tuner, antenna, and a certificate for free installation. Once you get everything installed (for free!), you call sirius back, give them your HU number, a credit card number, sign up for at least a year's subscription...30 seconds later, you're hooked! And trust me, once you sign on, you'll never go back!
does it have to be a kenwood hu number, or can it be from any 'sirius' ready stereo?

Has anyone figured out what model # they are sending us. I called the customer service # and she said I have to wait unitl its actually shipped to see which one they send me........that baffles me but whatever its free.

We are getting the SR903 and the CSXR40 antenna.

Anyone will do. Somewhere in your on-screen menu, there's a code-number for the headunit. When you call, you give them that number so your HU will be activated.

Oh...and the best place I found to mount the antenna is on the trunk lid right up against the rear glass. No drilling, and fairly inconspicuous.

This isn't only for the MSP is it? Cause I called and before I could say anything the lady was like " You have a Mazda Protege right?"
So I played alond and said "Yes". I didn't tell her it was MP5 not a MSP.
I'm getting the PNP unit.

Has anyone tried to mount the antenna inside the trunk on the underside of the lid.....I've seen it on the back dash and it worked just fine. If that works it will be perfect.

Well, the instructions on mine said that the antenna has to be on a metal surface. Supposedly when you mount it there it turns the metal in your trunk/roof into an antenna. Funny, I bought mine almost 18 months ago. (Circuit city deal - antenna, sirius tuner, and FM modulator for $80) I had it on my Miata (antenna mounted on trunk). When I traded it in, I put it on my P5 (antenna on roof). Since I move to Alaska, I let the subscription run out. But sometimes (depends on weather) I still turn it on and it still works.

Um, that's called theft. That's also why companies lose money and don't do things like this a lot. While Sirius is a huge corporation, it's still not cool.

And if they are already on Siruis then the credit card gets nailed........this offer is free as a perk for owning a car equipped with a radio....any other excuse to get one is fraud

As mentioned, Amy was very helpful. Took 5 minutes and will be here in 7 days.

Yep, that sux! I had no problems. As a matter of fact, they got confused and sent me two tuners and antennae. I had to send one set back.......(maybe I should have kept it!)
