Ever since I've owned my 2006 Mazda 6I, since December 2006, the display on Sirius has malfunctioned. When a long name in the display is replaced by a shorter name when the song changes, the letters of the long name that were not written over by the short name stay on the display. For example, if the Beatles have a song followed by the Who, it displays "WHOTLES".
Does anyone else have this problem?
I assumed ithis was a design flaw, and so waited to attempt to get it repaired, hoping the flaw would be fixed in a new replacement unit.
My Mazda dealer called Sirius when I tried to get this fixed in December, 2008 and was told it was a software issue at Sirius that would be fixed in January, but it was never fixed.
On 5/18/09, Sirius senior tech Lorin said my receiver needed replacing, and there was no mention of any software problem.
The dealer just replaced the satellite receiver on 6/2/09, under warranty, and the problem still exists, exactly the same. I then emailed Sirius, and they said to contact the manufacturer of the receiver, Sanyo. I've done that by email, but no response so far. The model of the receiver is 14790651.
I believe this confirms that the model of satellite receiver installed in the 2006 Mazda 6I has a design flaw and is misprogrammed on its chip, so that it leaves up letters on the display that are not replaced in the next song.
My dealer is at a loss on how to fix it, so is there anyone at Mazda I can contact about it?
Thanks
