Sirius installed; Bluetooth stopped working

Hey guys. I'm new to the forum and have searched it looking for some assistance with my problem. Here is my problem - I recently had the Mazda dealer install Sirius, but now Bluetooth feature does not work. I can dial out. The person on the other end can hear me, but I can't hear anything. The volume for the phone is at 60+

The service dept. is telling me I need another $150 part (switchbox) for my Bluetooth to work with Sirius. This does not make any sense to me. Has anyone else had their Bluetooth to stop working after Sirius was installed? Thanks for any assistance provided.

My bluetooth never worked when I received my car back in 2008. Dealer fixed it, below is the post I wrote up back then explaining the issue, which is related to the installation of Sirius. Maybe your issue is similar. BTW, I believe the switching box is required if you want both Sirius and the AUX jack to work, I don't think it's related to bluetooth. So you should check in your AUX jack works at all, you might have two issues on your hands.

Here's an update for the archives: there was a wiring connection missing behind the radio. The dealer had to order a "kit" from Mazda, which fixed the problem. The issue only seems to happen if you have both bluetooth and Sirius...maybe they use a wrong connector at the port (or factory, whereever the heck they install it). In any case, it works perfectly now. Note that I don't have the NAV.

Jabba and Ceric, thanks. It's my understanding also that the switching box is only needed if I would like the AUX port to work with Sirius. I'm O.K. with giving up the AUX port for Sirius. However, I'm pissed that the Bluetooth does not work now and the dealership is stating I need to come off another $150.00 to get it up and working.

Jabba, was the wiring connector that was missing different from the switching box?
