Show me your CX-5 wheels

Ok, so i'm thinking of getting these, but they a bit pricey

My current setup on Gen 1 2016 CX-5
20” 8.5J et45 with 255/45/20 RADAR DIMAX R8+ tyres
5mm adaptor front and 20mm rear

These cost US $1333

Front is 20x9.0|5x114|38 20" 790kg CB72.3
Rear 20x9.0|5x114|20 20" 790kg CB72.3

Difference from current setup would be 7mm further out in front (5J outer and ET2mm extra) and rear (5J outer and ET5mm extra. I don't intend to drop it, but concerned about rubbing and ride quailty. Is anyone running this setup, Front is 20x9.0|5x114|38 and Rear 20x9.0|5x114|20 with 255/45/20.

Would appreciate your opinion on expects on ride quality, rubbing, stance, turning and general ride quality. I think it would be a perfect setup with current tyres though, but just my opinion. I would not need the spacer anymore and i guess safer from that aspect.

Or i can just change my current rear adaptor from 20mm to 25mm to give me the look i want and costing only $115

Not going to comment on pushing it out further as I try to stay as close to stock spec as possible.

But in terms of benefits versus cost...

That's alot of $$$ to spend on new wheels for what's already 6 year old vehicle. Save that money to put towards your new ride.

If you must push it out further, why not go the inexpensive $115 way?

22x9 .. maybe even a 22x10 depending on the ET.. is prob the largest you can stuff in there w/o too much poke ..

I'm running a 19x9.5 for my summer set up ..

Added these pics to another previous post, but the 35 offset puts you flush to the fender, but these conti’s are super fat and stick almost a 1/4 inch past the actual wheel lip.

No rubbing, lock to lock on corksport springs.

correction, I'm looking at 19 x 9 et 32 or 19 x 9.5 et 35.

How is the poke on the front with your set up? Suspension components clearance?
 
2016 CX5 GT - downsizing from the OEM 19" to 17". The twist - Hyundai Santa Fe wheels & tires.

FB Marketplace is a great place to search for an extra set of OEM wheels - that's what I did for winter sets of three of our cars. And, since all our Mazdas are GTs with 19", I got 17" (CX5s) and 16" (M6) for the winter. 17" is a win-win in price and better Illinois potholes absorption.

This time, I wanted to replace my summer (all-season) 19" set. I found that Hyundai and Kia wheels have the same bolt pattern AND the same center bore = 67.1 mm. Then happened to find a 2019 Santa Fe 17" set of wheels with 235/65/17 Hankook Dynapro tires. 17x7 ET47. Tried one on at the seller's house and then put all of them there as well. Don't mind some extra width with the 235 vs 225. They fit like a glove. Reused my lugnuts. I felt that Mazda's center caps did not fit as securely as Hyundai's, so I left the Hyundai center caps in. The ride feels as expected. This significantly expands the search criteria given the volume of Hyundai/Kia sold per year. Take a look.

A 2022 Turbo in Black Mica with Flow One Race Spec F2 wheels (20x8.5 +45mm offset) and Continental DSW06+ tires (245/45ZR20).

SUV has been lowered 1.75" front and back.

Bottom pic shows the new slotted rotors with the wheels/tires.

I had to go with coilovers to get the height adjustment I wanted. I really liked the price of the CorkSport springs, but I originally thought that 2+" drop was a bit lower than I wanted to go.
Looking at it now though, it would have been OK I think.

Still, I like the adjustability I have and if I ever sell it, I have the original suspension unaltered sitting on a shelf in the garage.

would you please post more pictures? this is exactly the look I'm looking for. How would you describe the handling differences and overall feel? I have the exact color with stock wheels and they really look pathetically thin.

I'll try to take some the next time I wash it.

The handling is dramatically different. Much more responsive, less body lean, tighter and a bit stiffer. I have extreme confidence in the braking now as well between the tire, pad, and rotor upgrades.
