mountjonas, what suspension is that car lowered on?

I'd say he is running Eibach's just like mine but with tokico struts

running the tokico blues/prokit + 205-50/16's no rubbing. very subtle but they look better than the 195's.

jflo....why'd you go with 55's? Don't you find the handling a little sloppier with the taller sidewall?

not really...when i had the azenis on, they felt about as sharp as the stock re040s did on the 17s. these ecsta mx's aren't as sticky as the azenis, but they have the same response.

i would've went with the 45s but i just liked the way they look on there right now. my next set of tires will be for the stock 17s. i miss low profiles for some reason

Depends on the hardness of the sidewall. If it's a harder sidewall(and i'm not saying the kuhmo's have a harder SW than the azenis), why would the handling get worse?

The shock absorbers shouldn't affect the ride height, should they? or were you just saying?

The question was "what suspension". So I did a search of posts by mountjonas and found where he said what suspension he had. I just copied and pasted it.

I didn't even see the other quote you posted. haha
Hurm, now to do some investigating on the eibach spring rates.

I had H&R OE sports and KYB AGX's in my accord and I wasn't too thrilled with the springs - not that it wasn't expected.

I was always under the impression that the eibach's were mostly cosmetic since they rather soft as far as aftermarket springs are concerned. What about alignment issues after installing the springs, are you able to get the settings close to stock?

I had a 4 wheel allignment done at an alignment shop. not a tire shop that does allignments on the side. I installed mine not long after getting the P5 in early 2003. they didn't make "camber Kits" for the P5 back then. The shop put the car on the alignment computer and would change out bolts with longer or shorter ones until all 4 wheels were 100% in spec.

The eibachs are progressive. they have a lower ride height and ride smooth until you get on it in the corners.

I live in the mountains and there have been other mazdas behind me in the corners and saw my right rear wheel come completely off the ground several times in the corners before the eibachs.

but after the eibachs I stay pretty much planted

(thumb) your welcome even if I went way off topic... wait I showed pictures of "205" tires in every picture. So technically ...(hah) didn't go off topic.

Yes 205/45/16 will fit on stock rims. I have run 3 sets of AVS ES 100's on my stock rims. Stock set of 195/50's then 3 sets of Yokohama AVS ES100's and now Nitto 555. I'm still running 205/45/16 but they are on my 5zigen rims. (Not bad only 5 sets of tires since I got my car in Feb of 2003)

it won't affect anything , right? :P

The lower profile of the 45 part will alter your speedo reading. Your miles per hour may be off by .00004586963 percent at highway speeds.

Its nothing to fret about.

I ran this size tire and I'm lowered with Eibach's.
