Should my shifter do this?

Whilst driving, if I let off the gas but keep it in gear, the shifter moves a good inch. When I step on the go pedal again, it moves back an inch again. It's done this for some time and I never really paid it any mind, but my boss brought it up to me the other day when he drove it. I have an eBay short shifter installed with poly bushings, all motor mounts were replaced about 2 years ago and stock clutch with a little over 100k on the clock. Is this normal?

My first thought would be motor mounts, cuz mine does that too but didn't start until a few months ago when my exhaust started getting louder too (motor mounts giving out). But seeing as you replaced yours already... What brand mounts did you use?

Cheapest I could find on eBay! I inspected the side ones the other day and they are fine. Didn't feel like crawling under the car to check the rear.

Totally your motor mounts.
Mine did this since the time I first got the car used, and just last weekend I put in AWR motor mounts (all 4)
Completely eliminated this issue
The difference is noticeable night and day, I Wish this was the first thing I did.
I have a TWM short throw shifter as well
