Should I trade in my Protege 5 for a MSP?

I have posted this in the Protege forum but I also want MSP owners opinions...

A dealership nearby has two remaining 03.5 Yellow MSP's and desperately wants to sell them as most people want to buy the 2004 3's. They are willing to give me $3000 less than MSRP for my car as it has low, low, mileage.

I was planning on buying wheels, exhaust, and a stereo anyway.....should I do it?

Get the MSP if the money is right. I had a P5 for 2 weeks before I swapped it for my MSP. My only regret was I should have gotten the MSP in the first place. Besides the stereo, suspension, and exhaust, you get the LSD, ABS, better brakes, etc..

Get the real deal MSP not a hoge poge of add on's that never really work perfect from day one. Our systems work great and are under warr.

I saw you mentionned something about canadian money, and my dealership has 2 yellow 2003.5 MSP left ... so i guess you're in my area ? (I live in Lasalle, south/west part of Montreal)

Let me know how much they're selling you the MSP for and i'll tell you my price. Maybe if we both go at the same time we can get a good deal (that is, if you were talking about spinelli mazda in Lachine). PM me

I wouldn't be surprised that another dealership has 2 yellows sitting on their lot, most of the remaining ones in my area are yellow

DO IT!! I Traded my 2003 ES after 6 months and just buy acting really apprehensive and telling them another Mazda dealer was going to give me 15k for my trade they totally caved and gave me 0% apr and everything. Oh yeah and make sure you go in on the LAST day of the month...that was ****** KEY! GET IT!! ZOOOOOOM!

Seen one with the '03 brighter wheels and that looks great too - you'll find someone with an orange or black to trade with and can even eek some cash out there too.

That, or... there's the Mini - even the stock Mini is as much FUN as the MSP (I know it's a tad slower and smaller but that car rocks). That's it - my short list. Mini S if I could afford one, but they get spendy.

Natey is right that I live in Edmonton and actually there are 5 Yellow mazdaspeed's in the area. Two dealerships have two a piece and one dealership has one left.

The dealership I am dealing with hasn't called me back yet about the details of the transaction. I have my car up for sale at present and if it sells privately than i'll join the MSP gang.

If not than I will wait and see if the dealership ends up contacting me with what has been talked about.

I happened to be in Montreal in December and one dealership had 4 Mazdaspeed's one black, one titanium and two yellow's.

To the guy in Montreal.......check out autotrader.ca and search for Mazdaspeed Protege. You will see there are a few dealerships in Montreal that have speed's available!

so did i.... it's probably a left-over they sent us: even on mazda canada's website there's only those two colors for the 03.5 and orange only for the 03....

i had a red p5 and i traded mine in for a titanium msp soon as it came out..but it also wouldve been cheaper for me to keep my p5, which was paid off, and just slap a turbo on there..wouldve been faster too, but i also liked msp bodystyle and handling

When I searched for Mazdaspeed Protege's on Autotrader.ca a dealership in Montreal had a black 03 Mazdaspeed protege with just 1000kms on it, not miles......

So yes Canada only received the Spicy Orange in 2003 and Yellow and Titanium in 2003.5......but where did the black 03 come from?

It could have been a U.S. car but they listed it as kilometers rather than miles on the odometer.....hmmm....one has to wonder if it was left over production?
