I have a 2008 Mazda CX-7 Grand Touring Edition with 77,000 miles on it and am the original owner. I am toying with getting a CX-5 GT Edition, but want the "best" timing for this. Until I read these forums, I had no idea CX-7 owners were having so many problems. I did have the timing chain replaced at 65,000 and am glad I had the extended warrantee (it has since expired 2,000 miles ago).
I guess my question is: Are folks having lots of other issues with the CX-7 after the 80K mile mark once the timing chain issue has been resolved? I have had regular maintenance (and by "regular", I mean REGULAR; oil changes every 3,000 miles plus everything recommended when it was recommended and have the records to prove it, in order, by date in a 3-ring binder! Scary, I know!).
It's really been a fabulous car. I wish they still made them...
If I am looking at tons of problems in my future, I'd just as soon sell it now while it's still worth about $9600. If I am not, I might as well keep it until it's older (maybe 110K miles or so).
